Job Description

Level I Press Operators assist higher-level Press Operators in producing quality products and enhancing efficiency during set-up and change-over. Key responsibilities include handling dies, print cylinders, and inks, mounting plates for flexographic presses, and mixing inks for upcoming jobs. Operators are expected to complete press double-checks, keep presses running during breaks, and maintain a clean production area. They must be agile, manage time effectively, and collaborate respectfully with pre-production teams. Essential qualifications include passing a color vision test and being able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must have:
  • Handle the delivery and return of dies, print cylinders & inks.
  • Mount plates for flexographic presses, staging two or more jobs in advance.
  • Mix inks needed for upcoming jobs.
  • Complete press double-checks as needed.
  • Keep presses running during breaks.
  • Be agile, moving to where the work is if necessary and as directed by the Production Supervisor.
  • Keep production area clean, neat, and organized.
  • Work with pre-production individuals as a team, and with respect.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage time.
  • Must be able to pass a test for color vision deficiency.
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Job Summary:

Level I Press Operators are responsible for assisting Level II, III & IV Press Operators with the production of a quality product, increasing efficiency during set-up and change-over.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keep presses running during breaks.
  • Be agile, moving to where the work is if necessary and as directed by the Production Supervisor.

  • Work with pre-production individuals as a team, and with respect.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
  • Press Operators must be able to pass a test for color vision deficiency.
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
