Job Description

The Pricing Manager is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of pricing strategies and processes. This role requires experience in Finance and Sales Operations and the ability to work with a global Sales team. Key responsibilities include developing financial models, analyzing complex deals, providing pricing guidance, managing pricing analysts, evaluating pricing effectiveness, and making recommendations for pricing updates. This role requires collaboration with various corporate functions to ensure optimal pricing processes are defined and implemented.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a data/analytics related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Finance or Sales Operations.
  • Prior in-depth experience with CRM and CPQ systems.
  • Expert-level Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
Good to have:
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations.
  • Ability to articulate insights and recommended actions.
  • Experience with data warehousing, SQL, Snowflake and Microsoft BI.
  • MBA degree is a plus.

Summary / Role Purpose

The Pricing Manager is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of pricing strategies and processes. This role requires previous experience in Finance and Sales Operations and the ability to work with a global Sales team.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop financial models and analysis supporting and evaluating large, complex deals and transactions, understanding and evaluating deal quality based on quantitative and qualitative criteria 
  • Analyze and present analysis that supports complexity behind the scenes yet is simple for internal customers (Sales, Product Management, etc.) to understand and utilize
  • Use deal negotiation models and guard rails to provide pricing guidance that maximizes customer value and supports corporate objectives
  • Manage and supervise pricing analysts
  • Perform recurring financial evaluation to assess pricing actions effectiveness
  • Interface with various corporate functions (Sales, Operations, Finance, Product Management, etc.) to ensure optimal pricing processes are defined and implemented
  • Prepare and present recommendations to leadership for updates to current pricing for existing offerings, identifying and evaluating opportunities to drive revenue for new product features and new offerings reflecting competitive position and value generated
  • Perform multiple ongoing and ad-hoc analyses as requested or as needed to identify opportunities and to drive projects and improvements

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in data/analytics related field e.g., Finance, Business, Accounting
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience working in a Finance or Sales Operations role
  • Prior in-depth experience working with CRM and CPQ systems, preferably SalesForce
  • Expert-level Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to meet demanding and evolving deadlines

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization
  • Ability to effectively articulate insights and recommended actions
  • Experience with data warehousing, SQL, Snowflake and Microsoft BI preferred
  • MBA degree is a plus
