Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant _ Senior Release Manager – MS Dynamics 365

In this role you will oversee release management, version upgrades, and production refreshes for two clients. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Lifecycle Services (LCS) administration, have expertise in the Azure platform (preferred but not mandatory), and lead the entire release process for our clients. This is an immediate joiner position requiring excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end release management process for Dynamics 365 (D365) in an AMS setup, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating all activities related to version upgrades and production refreshes.
  • Work closely with two clients to understand their specific needs and ensure their release schedules are met. Provide regular updates and maintain open lines of communication to manage expectations and address any concerns.
  • Administer and manage LCS for D365, ensuring compliance with best practices and standards. This includes setting up and maintaining environments, managing updates, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Manage both production and non-production environments for D365 Finance & Operations (F&O) and Customer Engagement (CE). Ensure environments are ready and maintain enterprise-wide release discipline through planning and implementing a release calendar, including code freeze and release windows.
  • Handle data refreshes from production to development and test environments.
  • Monitor all D365 environments using LCS to ensure stability and performance.
  • Possess deep knowledge of build deployment processes. Prepare and deploy buildings using Azure pipelines.
  • Work with DevOps practices and release automation. Ensure automated CI/CD pipelines are in place and functioning correctly.
  • Ensure cutover plans are in place and correctly managed for smooth transitions during releases.
  • Identify and manage risks, resolving issues that affect release scope, impact, schedule, and quality.
  • Monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive release documentation, including release notes, deployment plans, rollback procedures, and post-release reports. Ensure that all stakeholders have access to up-to-date information.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in D365 and Azure platforms. Incorporate best practices and new technologies into the release management process to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members, ensuring clear understanding of release objectives, timelines, and any potential impacts on business operations.

Minimum Qualifications / Skills

  • Proven experience as a Release Manager, preferably in an AMS setup for Dynamics 365 (D365). Demonstrated ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Lifecycle Services (LCS) administration. Strong understanding of release management processes, version upgrades, and production refreshes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to identify issues quickly and develop effective solutions.
  • Immediate availability to join and contribute to the team.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

  • Expertise in the Azure platform, including experience with Azure DevOps and related tools.
  • Experience working with multiple clients in a managed services environment. Ability to manage client relationships and expectations effectively.
  • Certification in Dynamics 365 or related technologies. Additional certifications in project management or ITIL are a plus.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools. Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
