Scopely is looking for a Principal Content Designer to join us remotely from the US or Canada!

Scopely is building an exciting AAA multiplayer action game for consoles, PC, and mobile, using Unreal 5. We believe this stylized fantasy project has the potential to be massive in scale and industry-defining!
 
What You Will Do
As a Principal Content Designer you will be at the forefront of crafting the content vision for this expansive project, and guiding the team in building immersive & engaging experiences for millions of players. You will be expected to:
  • Help drive the high-level content strategy for the game, influencing major design decisions that impact the overall player experience.
  • Partner with creative and technical leadership to align content initiatives with broader game and business goals.
  • Lead content efforts across teams, ensuring features, quests, and dynamic content are seamlessly integrated into the explorable world.
  • Be responsible for the pacing and flow of moment-to-moment gameplay, establishing sophisticated quest structures, puzzles, and combat spaces that captivate players.
  • Provide mentorship to content designers, encouraging an environment of growth and innovation.
  • Use player and team feedback to drive ongoing improvement, ensuring that content is fun, functional, and aligned with the project’s vision.
  • Regularly evaluate the game's content to ensure that designs are evolving and scaling with the needs of the project.
 
What We’re Looking For
  • Extensive experience in crafting immersive open-world content, encompassing quests, story arcs, dynamic events, and memorable experiences.
  • Experience in designing large-scale multiplayer environments, ensuring content supports massively multiplayer engagement while maintaining individual player goals.
  • Ability to prototype and implement sophisticated content features with strong technical design skills.
  • A collaborative, cross-functional leader who thrives in an international, diverse team and can drive iterative processes across fields.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to provide and receive feedback constructively, while driving team development.
  • Deep understanding of live-game economies and the dynamics of content design in live service games.
 
Bonus Points
  • Experience leading content design for multiplayer games, MMORPGs, or Action RPGs.
  • Understanding of social gameplay and its impact on crafting community content.
  • Proficiency with Unreal Engine 5.

For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $169,600 - 253,000, plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
