Job Description

As a Principal QA Automation Engineer, you will lead quality efforts in the US and India. You will develop and implement automation strategies, build a high-performing QA process, and ensure the quality of product releases. Responsibilities include developing and executing automated test cases, automating API test cases, conducting database validations, and working on performance testing. You will lead and mentor a QA team, design test plans, and build dashboards to track key metrics. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential. This role involves driving best practices for testing, integrating processes with CI/CD pipelines, and contributing to the overall product quality strategy. The candidate will work to achieve end-to-end automation.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of QA experience with a focus on automation
  • Strong experience in designing and implementing automation frameworks
  • Proven ability to build automation from scratch
  • Experience with API testing and tools such as DataDog Synthetics
  • Solid understanding of SDLC and QA methodologies
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in Python.

You will be instrumental in developing and implementing automation strategies, building a high-performing QA process, and ensuring the quality of our product releases. This role requires a hands-on approach to automation development, coupled with strong leadership skills to guide and mentor a team of QA engineers. In this role, you will lead automation efforts for our flagship product - Predict, and establish comprehensive dashboards for monitoring and analysis. Frequently Asked Questions What is a day in the life of a Principal QA Automation Engineer?
  • Develop and execute automated test cases using Java or Python with tools like Selenium and Cucumber.
  • Automate API test cases using Postman or RestAssured and ensure robust backend validation.
  • Conduct database validations and ensure seamless integration of database testing.
  • Work on performance testing using tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner to ensure system reliability and scalability.
  • Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers in India, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Design and execute test plans for new product features and releases.
  • Build and maintain dashboards to track key quality metrics and defect trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and operations, to ensure quality is integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices for testing, including functional, integration, performance, and regression testing.
  • Integrate quality processes with CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable releases.
  • Identify and analyze defects, and work with development teams to resolve them.
  • Contribute to the overall product quality strategy and drive improvements in the QA process.
  • Work to achieve end-to-end automation of all features and functionalities.
What will I need to thrive in this role?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on automation.
  • Strong experience in designing, developing, and implementing automation frameworks.
  • Proven ability to build automation from scratch.
  • Experience with API testing and tools such as DataDog Synthetics.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data analysis and defect trending.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Prior experience in a lead role is preferred.
  • Experience with Selenium, Cucumber, Postman, and RestAssured.
  • Python Proficiency.
