What you’ll achieve

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment. You will work with product management, other engineering teams, customer success and support on developing cutting edge new product features and enhancements across various areas of Boomi offerings.

You will:

• Work with the team to build solutions as a Fullstack Engineer using Java for the backend and React.js for the frontend
• Be a key member of an Agile team, collaboratively realizing features through the software development lifecycle
• Guide and participate in design, development, clean code, unit testing, test automation and deployment of Boomi products and services including enhancements and/or resolution of any issues that may be reported
• Work independently with a minimal level of guidance on technical aspects
• Investigate and resolve complex customer issues
• Review peers' code to ensure quality and adherence to best practices
• Mentor junior members of the team, providing guidance and support in their development
• Research, validate, and recommend technology decisions for new features
• Provide application support on an as-needed basis to resolve issues and ensure smooth operation.
• Participate in team activities such as sprint planning and retrospectives to enhance collaboration and project delivery

Essential Requirements 

• Ability to learn new tools, languages, and operating systems with some training and on-the-job experience
• Experience in software development, including the use of some IDE with a solid understanding of object-oriented design concepts for delivering and maintaining a software product
• Experience with source control systems, continuous integration tools
• Experience with agile collaboration tools, such as JIRA and Confluence
• Experience with java Programming language, Springboot, related libraries
• Experience working with web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, NodeJS, Design Systems/Web component libraries
• Experience with Web Services technologies including REST, GRAPHQL, SOAP, WSDL and RPC
• Experience with Database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL)
• Experience with Unit testing and Test Automation
• Experience with DevOps tools and practices for continuous integration and deployment
• Experience with AWS cloud tools

Desirable Requirements 

• 8+ years of experience in software development
• Experience working with Java
• Experience working with UI frameworks - React
• Experience with designing and developing responsive web applications
• Experience working with NodeJs is added advantage
• Experience with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS)
• Nice to have: Experience using Linux/Unix environments
