As a Producer at Terminal Velocity, you'll be the primary liaison between engineering teams and global gaming clients. You'll work on cutting-edge projects, shaping the next generation of live service titles. This hybrid role requires 3 days/week on-site in Cardiff.

Job Details

Please note that this is a hybrid position based in Cardiff, requiring 3 days onsite each week, with the option for remote work on the remaining days.

Part of the Rocket Science Group, Terminal Velocity is a multinational team composed of seasoned multiplayer veterans with experience from top studios like Blizzard, PUBG, Epic, and Unity. We specialise in designing and supporting platform services tailored to the unique needs of our clients, focusing on social, monetisation, matchmaking, and fleet management systems. We pride ourselves on delivering stable services and boring game launches, blending deep technical expertise with an understanding of today’s global gaming environments.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Producer at Terminal Velocity, you will work closely with our engineering teams to deliver a variety of back end products and services to meet the unique needs of our global gaming client base.

The Producer will be the main point of contact between the studio and our clients, and will be responsible for maintaining a productive and positive relationship ensuring timely and efficient communication and the successful delivery of all project milestones. As the primary liaison between our internal teams and external clients, you will ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products and services. Your ability to formulate actionable plans and organising our internal teams, while managing stakeholder expectations, will be essential to our success. In this role, you'll work on cutting-edge, innovative projects at the forefront of the game industry, helping shape and support the next generation of live service titles.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Project Management & Delivery:
    Manage the entire lifecycle of multiple projects, ensuring milestones are delivered on time and within scope and budget. Align teams around project plans and schedules, executing efficiently within Agile practices. 

  • Account Management:
    Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building trust and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships. Serves as the voice of the client within the organisation, ensuring their needs and objectives are prioritised. 

  • Strategic Thinking: As part of the above, has the ability to identify the strategic needs of our clients and their respective objectives and priorities, enabling organic growth. 

  • Upselling and Expansion:
    Identify opportunities to expand client relationships by working with Business Development and Engineering to pitch additional services or capabilities.

  • Risk Management & Quality Assurance:
    Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks, ensuring quality standards are upheld.

  • Communication:
    Provide regular updates to clients about project progress, challenges, and solutions, ensuring transparency. Aligning with this, ensuring we get sign off on each deliverable via clear comms. 

  • Expectation Management:
    Align client expectations with project realities, negotiating scope or timeline adjustments as needed.

  • Upselling & Business Expansion:
    Identify opportunities to expand client relationships by working with BD and Engineering to pitch additional services or capabilities.

  • Culture & Team Collaboration:
    Foster a collaborative, positive work environment and manage distributed teams across time zones. Drive continuous improvement within the team.

  • Reporting & Documentation:
    Maintain project documentation and deliver regular status reports to stakeholders. Ensure key learnings are shared to improve future projects.

WHAT WE VALUE:

  • 2+ yrs: Professional production, technical account manager, or project management experience.

  • Multi-discipline Team Experience: Coordinating and/or managing multiple teams of multi-discipline developers.

  • Strong Organisational Skills: Attention to detail across multiple projects and teams.

  • Drive: Keep team members working efficiently and effectively toward project goals, maintaining focus on the valuable product increments and scope.

  • Passion: Championing continuous improvement and setting out new challenges for your studio.

SKILLS:

  • Basic understanding of back-end development and principles to support effective client communication and technical problem-solving.

  • Excellent project management skills, with experience using tools like Jira, Trello, or similar.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly assess situations and provide actionable solutions.

  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail across multiple projects and teams.
