Job Description

The Proofreader at Hogarth ensures the highest quality of print materials, adhering to brand specifications. They assist in developing and communicating quality control guidelines, review all print production materials for accuracy, and return proofs for revisions. Responsibilities include checking for adherence to proofreading guidelines, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and general quality control. They also assist in developing QC/proofreading processes and look for ongoing enhancements. Hogarth is looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual with strong English skills to join their team.

Must have:

2+ years experience in a studio/QC setting
Sound working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
Basic knowledge of Creative Suite programs
Strong working knowledge of AP style guide
Outstanding mastery of the English language
Highly detail-oriented and organized
Ability to prioritize and work under pressure

HOGARTH IS LOOKING FOR A PROOFREADER
What does a Proofreader do at Hogarth?

The Proofreader ensures all print materials are delivered correctly, to the highest quality, and according to brand specifications.

Duties:

Assists with developing and communicating brand, agency, and client quality control guidelines
Reviews all print production materials to ensure accuracy
Returns proof to Artworker for revisions after marking up changes
Reviews for conformance with standard proofreading and brand guidelines, spelling and grammatical errors, punctuation, spacing, positioning of page elements, copy errors, and general quality controls
Assists in developing QC/proofreading processes and documentation including checklists and workflow documents
Reviews processes for ongoing enhancements and improvements

Requirements:

2+ years’ experience in a studio/QC setting
Sound working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
Basic knowledge of Creative Suite programs
Strong working knowledge of AP style guide
Outstanding mastery of the English language including grammar, punctuation and spelling
Highly detail-oriented and organized
Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
