Rolls-Royce Power Systems is seeking a PSB Portfolio & Project Planner to oversee and bring expertise to their team. The role involves developing and implementing global Portfolio/Program/Project Management guidelines, processes, methods, and tools. The planner will analyze and compare global and regional portfolios using standardized performance indicators and escalate issues as needed. Responsibilities include collecting and distributing lessons learned, guiding senior management on Project Management tools, supporting integrated planning, assisting Steerco meetings, and staying updated with market technical developments. The candidate should be prepared for overseas business travel and special assignments.
Must have:
  • Completed studies with master/diploma degree
  • Several years of experience as Program/Project Manager
  • Experience in SAP landscape (PPM, BW, SAC, CEC)
  • Proven knowledge in Portfolio/Program/Project Management (IPMA certification)
  • Proven knowledge in process management and KPI systems
  • Effective communication with senior management and working level
  • Excellent team player with open mindset and collaborative spirit
  • Proactive and positive attitude
  • Proficient in English language
Good to have:
  • Experience in an EPC environment

A new opportunity has arisen for a PSB Portfolio & Project Planner like you, to oversee and bring expertise to our team.

Rolls-Royce Power Systems is headquartered in Friedrichshafen in southern Germany and employs around 9,000 people. The product portfolio includes mtu-brand high-speed engines and propulsion systems for ships, power generation, heavy land, rail and defence vehicles and for the oil and gas industry as well as diesel and gas systems and battery containers for mission critical, standby and continuous power, combined generation of heat and power, and microgrids.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develops and implements cross-BU global Portfolio- / Program- / Project Management guidelines, processes, methods and tools respecting existing standards (e.g. ISO; ICB 4.0, etc) in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Analyzes and compares global and regional Portfolios incl. Programs and Projects against each other with regards to standardized performance indicators (e.g. Schedule Performance Index, Cost Performance Index, Non-Conformance Cost, etc) and case-by-case escalates to relevant committees.

  • Collects, analyzes and distributes local, regional and global Lessons Learned aiming at continuously improving overall Portfolio performance.

  • Guides Senior Management in various aspects of the efficient use of Project Management tools and tailors individual reporting.

  • Helps as key user to Program and Project Managers in all aspects of the efficient use of the Project Management tools.

  • Supports the integrated und cross-functional planning of programs and projects in operative Project Systems Business.

  • Supports Steerco meeting in accordance to the requirements.

  • Update oneself with the technical developments of the market and internal products.

  • Travel overseas on business, when required.

  • Special assignment from time to time.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Successfully completed studies with master / diploma degree.

  • Several years of experience as Program / Project Manager, ideally in an EPC environment.

  • Several years of experience in SAP landscape (e.g. PPM, BW, SAC, CEC, etc).

  • Proven knowledge in Portfolio / Program / Project Management (e.g. IPMA certification, etc).

  • Proven knowledge in process management and in KPI systems.

  • Effective communication with senior management as well as working level.

  • Positive attitude and openness for collaboration with experts in APAC, EMEA and NALA.

  • Excellent team player with an open mindset, collaborative spirit, and exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.

  • Proactive and positive attitude.

  • Understanding of Asian cultures and business practices.

  • Proficient in English language.
