Job Description
The Project Lead at Rolls-Royce is responsible for the successful delivery of assigned projects and work streams, ensuring they meet cost, specification, and time targets. This role involves establishing and maintaining project documentation, acting as a focal point for project aspects, and providing key stakeholders with information for management decisions. The Project Lead also manages integrated plans, chairs schedule review meetings, and ensures the effective implementation of company management processes and best practices, contributing to the local Project Management Community of Practice.
Good To Have:
- RR design/manufacturing engineering practice and experience highly preferred
- Deep understanding of RR functions/processes highly preferred
Must Have:
- Proficient Chinese and English
- Understand Chinese culture to best cooperate with Chinese suppliers
- Bachelor degree (or plus) level qualification preferable or equivalent industry experience (like forging and machining)
- Able to work in an Integrated Project Team environment
- Experience of leading multi-function teams
- Member of a professional body and working towards an APMPQ qualification or equivalent, or a good understanding of cross functional integrated working
- At least 5 years’ experience in project management

Position summary
Taking responsibility for the delivery of required projects or work streams assigned.
What you will be doing:
- Accountable for the successful delivery to cost, specification and time for a defined package of work.
- Establish, develop and maintain the documentation necessary to deliver the package of work.
- Act as the focal point for all aspects related to the packages of work.
- Provide information necessary to make management decisions to the key stakeholders.
- Ensure the creation and management of an integrated set of plans / schedules.
- Organize and chair schedule review meetings and report areas where executive decisions need to be made.
- Ensure the implementation of company management processes is effective and efficient.
- Develop / implement Project Management best practice in line with company management processes.
- Provision of basic guidance to others regarding the Project Management processes and the operation of the project management systems / tools / methods.
- Contribution to the local Project Management Community of Practice.
Position qualifications:
- Proficient Chinese and English, and understand Chinese culture to best cooperate with Chinese suppliers (some cannot speak English well).
- Bachelor degree (or plus) level qualification preferable or equivalent industry experience, like forging and machining, etc. RR design/manufacturing engineering practice and experience highly preferred.
