The Public Affairs team at Grab is dedicated to shaping a supportive regulatory environment and encouraging strategic partnerships that promote Grab's mission of driving economic empowerment and digital inclusion across Southeast Asia. We engage proactively and constructively with government partners, industry associations, and civil society at both national and provincial levels to advocate for policies that support our diverse ecosystem of drivers, merchants, and consumers, ensuring Grab can continue to create meaningful value for Thailand.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for an experienced Public Affairs professional to join our dynamic team in Thailand. We are looking for a strategic operator with an understanding of the Thai political and regulatory landscape, including intricate provincial dynamics and ability to build and maintain robust relationships with a broad range of key stakeholders. You will help develop public policy strategies, promoting engagement in main provinces, independently managing complex regulatory issues, and enhancing Grab's reputation as a responsible and impactful technology leader in Thailand. You will report into Senior Manager, Public Affairs. You will work 5 days onsite at Grab's office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

Strategic Analysis & Policy Development:

• Independently conduct in-depth analysis of the Thai government and political landscape to develop comprehensive public affairs strategies.
• Monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy developments in Thailand, assessing their potential impact on Grab's operations at both national and provincial levels.
• Craft strategy papers independently, including the development of different options and clear, data-backed recommendations.

Stakeholder Engagement & Representation:

• Establish and nurture relationships with a broad range of local government partners across Thailand, including core agencies, government officials, think tanks, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) at both central and provincial administrations.
• Initiate and promote engagement plans for specific provinces, understanding their unique regulatory environments.

Issue Management & Influence:

• Independently manage complex and sensitive public policy issues, developing proactive and reactive strategies to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities across all relevant provinces.

Operational Leadership & Impact:

• Independently identify implementation challenges from a Public Affairs perspective and develop solutions.
• Translate insights into applicable implementation solutions, ensuring practical application.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You have bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, International Relations, Communications, or a related field.
• You have 6+ years of progressive experience in public affairs, government relations, policy advocacy, or corporate communications.
• You have experience with the Thai government and political landscape, with specific expertise in provincial governance structures, local political dynamics, and important provincial partners.
• You have experience engaging with senior government officials, including at the provincial level, and influencing policy outcomes independently.
• You have the willingness to travel frequently to different provinces across Thailand
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Thai and English
• Familiarity with the tech industry, digital economy, and platform business models is a significant advantage.
