The Quest:

As our QA Lead, you'll be at the forefront of quality assurance, guiding your team and directly impacting our product's success. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Elevating your team's testing knowledge by constantly providing feedback, setting clear goals for each member, tracking their progress, and offering robust support for their career growth.
  • Directly communicating with partners and stakeholders to address day-to-day needs and ensure smooth collaboration.
  • Creating and structuring comprehensive test plans for the QA team, ensuring ample coverage for all project needs. You'll also execute test cases to guarantee the product is up to industry and company standards.
  • Organizing a mixed team effectively, even when working with a single partner.
  • Optimizing task assignments by considering individual team members' experience and expertise.
  • Constantly monitoring daily tasks and possessing a keen eye for handling deviations by having the ability to keep the team focused.
  • Onboarding new employees and crafting personalized development plans tailored to their desired career paths.
  • Generating quantitative and qualitative feedback and reports for partners and upper management, providing clear insights into your team's performance and its impact on the business.
  • Conducting monthly evaluations and hosting 1:1 meetings for your direct reports to foster growth and address individual needs.
  • Promoting & supporting innovation and positive initiative within the team you are leading.
  • Fostering inter-departmental collaboration leading to problem-solving actions and/or improving the workplace and workflows.
  • Setting clear, consistent, and concise goals for your direct reports to ensure and foster a growth environment.

The Skills:

We're looking for a QA Lead who possesses a blend of strong technical expertise, leadership qualities, and exceptional interpersonal skills. Ideally, you'll have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in QA, with at least 3 years in a Test Lead or Coordinator role.
  • Deep familiarity with QA processes and methodologies, allowing you to navigate them with finesse and expertise. This includes a proven track record in defining and maintaining a well-structured testing process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills. You're fluent in English, conveying ideas with clarity, charisma, and precision, both in script and in person.
  • Experience working effectively with difficult or organizationally unstable clients, demonstrating your ability to manage complex relationships.
  • The ability to prioritize efficiently, even when faced with unclear direction or shifting demands.
  • A strong sense of ownership for your projects, the company, and the growth of your team.
  • The ability to provide firm yet diplomatic feedback, fostering improvement without undermining morale.
  • A high-level understanding of each of the business needs of the clients, ensuring our QA efforts align with strategic goals.
  • Adaptability and strong time management skills, thriving in dynamic environments.
  • Knowledge of and exposure to various platforms (PC, Console, Mobile (iOS/Android), Handhelds, Web Tools, Software, JIRA, etc.).
  • Risk management-oriented behavior resulting in fast decision-making that yields positive outcomes.
  • Awareness of escalation paths (internally & externally) in relation to various issues that may affect delivery and/or result quality.
  • Good reporting skills both written and verbally, with an attention to detail and accuracy of the presented information.
  • Proficiency in resource planning, ensuring appropriate allocation for current and upcoming tasks.
