Job Description

PikPok is seeking a self-managed QA Tester to ensure product quality across various platforms. Responsibilities include designing and executing test plans, managing defects, and communicating results. The ideal candidate will have critical thinking skills, collaborate effectively within multicultural teams, and possess foundational knowledge of software testing and game development lifecycle. This role requires 6 months of experience in software testing and proficiency with tools like JIRA and TestRail.
Good To Have:

The QA Tester’s responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the alignment of QA activities with the project, area, and company context by understanding the video game lifecycle, design requirements, and user expectations.
  • Design, maintain, and continuously improve comprehensive test plans within test management tools, ensuring they accurately reflect the latest product updates.
  • Set up and maintain test environments and tools to ensure reliable and realistic testing.
  • Oversee and ensure the overall quality, functionality, and consistency of the game throughout its entire lifecycle.
  • Execute and monitor test cases to evaluate functionality, performance, and overall gameplay experience.
  • Manage the defect lifecycle by tracking, verifying, and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Communicate clear and timely updates on test results, product quality, and risks, providing actionable insights to support decision-making and enhance the overall gameplay experience.
  • Document lessons learned and share best practices to improve QA processes, team efficiency, and product quality.

The QA Tester’s required knowledge and experience should include:

  • The ability to collaborate effectively within international and multicultural teams, valuing diverse perspectives and actively sharing knowledge.
  • English proficiency at a B2 level or higher, with strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation, coordination, and reporting.
  • Ideally, 6 months of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or related areas experience in game testing is a plus.
  • Ideally, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Game Development, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technology disciplines.
  • A solid understanding of the game development lifecycle, from prototype to live operations, and how QA contributes throughout each phase.
  • Foundational knowledge of software testing, including functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing, as well as basic acceptance criteria.
  • Hands-on experience with issue tracking tools (such as JIRA) and familiarity with standard workflows for logging, prioritizing, and verifying defects.
  • Familiarity with test management platforms (e.g., TestRail) to design, execute, and track test cases, ensuring traceability between requirements, tests, and issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and clear documentation skills, including the ability to write precise reproduction steps, expected results, and attach supporting evidence.

Other desirable knowledges

  • Basic programming knowledge, particularly in scripting or object-oriented languages (such as Python, C#, or JavaScript), to support technical understanding and communication with development teams.
  • Familiarity with basic scripting or automation testing tools, enabling the creation or maintenance of automated test cases and supporting efficiency in repetitive testing tasks.
  • Understanding of performance testing principles, including the use of monitoring tools and the ability to interpret key performance metrics (FPS, memory usage, latency, stability, etc.) to identify potential issues affecting player experience.
