Job Description

As a QA Tester, you will be an integral part of the process from the beginning as you verify the quality of each game build we receive. You will be the first person to see every build, contribute to verifying stability, learn to provide feedback from early development through launch, and help create reports on game development status. You will also create video clips to demonstrate quality improvements and submit detailed issues with screenshots/videos, participating in issue validation.
Good To Have:
  • Proficiency in other languages
  • An educational background or any past experience in the video game industry
Must Have:

  • Learn how to provide feedback for every build from very early in the development process through game launch.
  • Contribute to reports which help others understand each game's development status.
  • Create video clips which demonstrate where quality can be improved in each game.
  • Submit issues / feedback with just enough detail (and plenty of screenshots / videos!).
  • Participate in the validation of issues when they have been reportedly resolved in a new build.

Internship Description

Dear Villagers works with talented developers / studios from around the world to help them achieve their projects' highest goals. As a QA Tester, you will be an integral part of that process from the beginning as you verify the quality of each game build we receive.

You will:

  • Be the first person to see every build of every game.
  • Contribute to verifying that each build is stable enough for the other Villagers to play.
  • Learn how to provide feedback for every build (milestones or intermediate) from very early in the development process through game launch.
  • Contribute to reports which help others understand each game's development status.
  • Create video clips which demonstrate where quality can be improved in each game.
  • Submit issues / feedback with just enough detail (and plenty of screenshots / videos!).
  • Participate in the validation of issues when they have been reportedly resolved in a new build.

Profile Sought

  • Fluent in English and French
  • Proficiency in other languages would be a plus
  • Good communication skills
  • Systematically organized
  • Versatility and capacity to adapt to very different game projects
  • Solid knowledge of video game design and common game tropes
  • No professional experience is required but an educational background or any past experience in the video game industry is a bonus
