We are seeking a Senior Analyst for the Risk Analytics team, to be a key subject matter expert in risk management. This role involves driving high-impact analytical initiatives to improve fraud prevention, reduce financial losses from chargebacks, and optimize risk-related workflows across all Draftkings products. It requires advanced technical skills and deep risk management expertise. You will analyze data to identify emerging threats, optimize decision thresholds, and shape risk mitigation strategies, directly influencing operational and strategic decisions for effective risk detection, management, and reduction.
Must have:
  • 3 years of experience in analytics or data science
  • 2 years in risk analytics, fraud, or financial crime prevention
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Understanding of risk management principles
  • Ability to present insights to leadership
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL/Snowflake
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
Good to have:
  • Experience in ACH risk mitigation
  • Proficiency in Tableau or similar visualization tools
  • Experience with Python, R, or statistical languages
  • Solid understanding of statistics and experimental design

We're looking for a Senior Analyst to join us on the Risk Analytics team, serving as a key subject matter expert on risk management. In this role, you'll drive high-impact analytical initiatives to enhance our fraud prevention strategies, reduce financial losses due to chargebacks, and improve risk-related workflows across all Draftkings’ products. This role requires both advanced technical skills and deep risk management expertise. You’ll be responsible for using data to identify emerging threats, optimize decision thresholds, and shape risk mitigation strategies. Your insights will directly influence operational and strategic decisions, helping us detect, manage, and reduce risk more effectively across the organization.

What you’ll do as a Sr. Analyst, Risk

  • Support high-impact analytical workstreams focused on evaluating fraud prevention workflows, analyzing chargeback trends, and enhancing risk mitigation strategies.

  • Monitor and respond to emerging threats by analyzing real-time alerts, identifying behavioral patterns, and developing data-driven solutions to reduce risk exposure.

  • Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights and recommendations that align stakeholders and drive effective risk management.

  • Build and maintain reporting tools and dashboards that surface key risk metrics, inform strategic decision-making, and support continuous process improvements.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Risk Operations and Data Science to analyze customer behavior, surface risks, and guide strategic initiatives.

What you’ll bring

  • At least 3 years of experience in analytics or data science, with a minimum of 2 years specifically in risk analytics, fraud, or financial crime prevention. Experience in ACH risk mitigation is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.

  • An understanding of risk management principles, including experience applying analytics to assess, detect, and mitigate risk.

  • Ability to take complex problems and data sets, build structured frameworks, and present clear, actionable insights to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL/Snowflake, with strong skills in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.

  • Proficiency in SQL/Snowflake, Tableau (or similar data visualization tools), and Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets. Experience with Python, R, or statistical programming languages is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of statistics, hypothesis testing, and experimental design. Experience with predictive modeling is a plus.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is 95,200.00 USD - 119,000.00 USD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The compensation information displayed on each job posting reflects the range for new hire pay rates for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
