As a Compensation Manager at Rippling, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our company's compensation strategy. You will drive core compensation programs, serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, and lead compensation design and review projects.

Your expertise will be instrumental in developing a fully featured Compensation tool that empowers Finance, Recruiting, Hiring Managers, Employees, and Candidates. You will collaborate with engineers and product managers to define and deliver innovative compensation solutions that align with our business objectives.

Please note this role will be at least 3 days a week in office

What you will do

  • Contribute to the continuous evolution of our comprehensive compensation strategy: anticipate future compensation challenges and proactively design innovative and scalable solutions. Effectively present compelling, data-backed proposals to influence and gain buy-in from executive leadership, ensuring alignment with our compensation philosophy and financial guardrails.
  • Serve as the primary compensation partner for designated business teams, providing expert consultation and education to leadership and stakeholders on compensation philosophies, competitive compensation practices that align with our business and financial objectives.
  • Lead compensation design for specific business groups includes Job Architecture, leveling and salary structure design, to help drive business strategy.
  • Lead communication and change management initiatives for critical compensation programs, including annual review cycles, equity programs, and the rollout of new strategic initiatives, ensuring clarity and adoption across the organization.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product leadership to contribute to the long-term roadmap for Rippling Compensation app, a comprehensive tool that enhances user experience and operational efficiency.

  • At least 8 years of compensation-related work experience, preferably within the tech industry, with at least 3 years managing a Compensation Program or Department. Experience with Public company equity in the US (or Private company equity preparing for IPO) preferred.
  • Substantial command of compensation fundamentals: job matching, market pricing, Leveling and Job Architecture, equity mechanics at private and public companies, cyclical programs, etc.
  • Ability to manage change and ambiguity, and influence cross functional stakeholders effectively. Collaborate with diverse teams, communicate complex information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and influence decision-making through data-driven insights and persuasive communication.
  • Prior experience working with large amounts of data, utilizing strong analytical skills to interpret compensation trends and build intelligence through reporting, with high attention to data validity.
  • Excellent communication and presentations skills, with the ability to effectively translate complex compensation concepts/models into digestible plans to the executives.

Even if you don’t meet all of the requirements listed here, we still encourage you to apply. Skills can be used in lots of different ways and your life and professional experience may be relevant beyond what a list of requirements will capture.
