Workato is seeking an experienced Senior Content Marketing Manager with expertise in artificial intelligence and agentic AI. The role involves leading the creation of high-impact thought leadership content to interpret trends, use cases, and narratives in agentic AI for an executive audience. The goal is to position Workato as a credible innovator in AI-driven business transformation. Responsibilities include designing and executing a content strategy on key software topics, operating at the forefront of Workato's perspective, and building an engaged subscriber base through newsletter growth. The role requires staying updated on AI and enterprise software trends, collaborating with internal teams, and using data feedback loops to improve performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the AI landscape and enterprise software, exceptional writing skills, and expertise in newsletter growth strategies.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Content Marketing Manager with expertise in artificial intelligence and agentic AI to lead the creation and dissemination of high-impact thought leadership content that interprets trends, use cases, and narratives in agentic AI for an executive audience. This role will position the Workato brand as a credible innovator in the AI-driven transformation of business, leveraging enterprise software expertise and proven newsletter growth strategies to engage and expand our audience.

  • Design and execute a content strategy on the hottest topics in software
    • Design and execute a thought leadership content strategy that delivers compelling insights into agentic AI trends, use cases, and enterprise applications, tailored to C-level executives and IT decision-makers.
  • Operate at the cutting edge of Workato’s point of view
    • Oversee the production of high-quality, opinionated content with your own byline as well as executive ghostwriting, including newsletter articles, whitepapers, and thought pieces that shape industry perspectives on AI and enterprise software.
  • Build an engaged subscriber base to elevate Workato’s credibility and influence
    • Build a newsletter and drive subscriber growth through organic and paid channels (on a platform such as Substack or Medium), using data-driven strategies to optimize engagement, open rates, and click-through metrics.
  • Keep tabs on the latest trends in our industry and in Agentic AI research
    • Stay ahead of the agentic AI landscape, including emerging technologies, competitive dynamics, and market trends, to ensure content is authoritative, relevant, and forward-thinking.
  • Collaborate and build relationships across the organization
    • Partner with product marketing, product, and communications teams to align thought leadership content with business goals, delivering narratives that influence opinions and drive impact.
  • Build feedback loops that improve our performance with data
    • Leverage audience analytics and feedback to refine content strategies, ensuring resonance with enterprise stakeholders and measurable improvements in engagement.

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in AI or marketing are a plus. Academic debate experience is a plus.

  • 7+ years in content marketing or thought leadership roles, with at least 3 years focused on enterprise software. Experience in automation, integration, orchestration, or other middleware is a plus!

  • Proven track record of developing and scaling successful newsletters or email lists, with measurable growth in subscriber base and engagement metrics.

  • Deep understanding of the AI landscape and enterprise software.

Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities, with a focus on translating complex AI concepts into accessible, compelling content.

  • Expertise in newsletter growth strategies, including paid and organic growth (e.g., blog, Substack, Medium, or similar).

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple content initiatives and deadlines.

  • Familiarity with enterprise software ecosystems, including SaaS, cloud computing, and data analytics platforms.

For California applicants, the pay for this role begins at $120,000 plus variable, benefits, perks and equity.
