Summary

Assystem Energy & Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join its innovative team in Derby. The role involves designing components to customer specifications, creating models and drawings with CAD, researching new ideas and methods, improving products and processes, modifying designs for requirements, ensuring safety compliance, finding creative solutions, supporting junior team members, and presenting designs to customers. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting, global projects within the Nuclear and Defence sectors. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of complex mechanical systems. You will also be responsible for mentoring and supporting junior engineers.
Must have:
  • Previous experience as a Senior Design Engineer or similar role
  • Ability to work with the Mechanical Engineering Team to realize ideas
  • Understanding of safety legislation
  • High degree of knowledge around Design for Manufacture
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD systems (Siemens NX or similar) for model and drawing creation
  • Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
  • Professional qualification in an engineering related field

Qualifications

Qualifications:

🔧 Previous experience as a Senior Design Engineer or similar role
🤝 Ability to work with the Mechanical Engineering Team to realize ideas
⚠️ Understanding of safety legislation
📚 High degree of knowledge around Design for Manufacture
🖥️ Familiarity with 3D CAD systems (Siemens NX or similar) for model and drawing creation
📂 Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
