Job Summary
Electronic Arts is seeking a Software Engineer II for its Data & Insights (D&I) team in Hyderabad, India. This role involves contributing to a unified Big Data pipeline, a live service platform incorporating data collection, ingestion, processing, access, and visualization on a modern, cloud-based tech stack. The engineer will work with cross-functional teams, evaluate live service solutions, use massive datasets for data-driven decisions, engage with game studios, and ensure compliance with legal and privacy teams. The position requires strong programming skills, experience with scalable systems, and a passion for innovative solutions in a creative technology company.
Must Have
- Work with cross-functional teams (Content Management & Delivery, Messaging, Segmentation, Recommendation, Experimentation) to streamline live services workflow.
- Evaluate EA's live service solutions, studio tech stacks, and vendor solutions for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Use massive data sets from 20+ game studios to promote data-driven decision-making and experimentation.
- Engage with Game Studios, Experience, and Brand organizations to understand use cases and drive e2e solutions.
- Work with Legal and Privacy teams to ensure compliance directives are followed.
- Work with product managers and customers to understand use cases, develop solutions, and drive development with best ROI.
- Bachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science/related field or relevant experience.
- 2-4 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong programming skills with expertise in software design, algorithms, and data structures.
- Proficiency in Java and Python.
- Experience with front-end development technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React).
- Familiarity with back-end development frameworks and technologies (e.g., Spring Boot).
- Experience with online & offline databases (columnar, relational, document).
- Extensive hands-on experience with high-throughput, low-latency live services, personalization platforms, data pipelines, Kafka, and analytics systems.
- Experience managing high-traffic, 24/7 services with complex dependencies and multi-cloud architectures (AWS).
- Experience in large-scale data processing systems.
- Familiarity with software development practices, including clean, reusable code, TDD, and continuous integration.

- Working experience with Docker/Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, GitLab CI/CD.

Software Engineer II, UM/Ads Connection
Responsibilities:
- You will work with cross-functional teams including Content Management & Delivery, Messaging, Segmentation, Recommendation, and Experimentation to streamline the live services workflow.
- You will evaluate where and how EA's live service solutions, studio tech stacks, and vendor solutions can work together and help to achieve both engineering and business goals in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- You will use massive data sets from 20+ game studios to promote a data-driven decision-making process and experimentation culture.
- You will engage with Game Studios, Experience, and Brand organizations to understand their use cases, and drive e2e solutions to meet the requirements.
- You will work with Legal and Privacy teams to ensure that compliance directives are strictly followed.
- You will work with product managers and customers directly to understand the use cases, come up with solutions and drive the areas of development with the best ROI.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science/related field or relevant experience.
- 2-4 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong programming skills with expertise in software design, algorithms, and data structures
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably java and one scripting language, preferably python
- Experience with front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks, preferably react.
- Familiarity with back-end development frameworks and technologies (e.g., Spring Boot).
- Experience working with online & offline databases, including columnar databases, relational databases or document databases.
- Extensive hands-on experience with high-throughput, low-latency live services, personalization platforms, data pipelines, kafka and analytics systems
- Experience managing high-traffic, 24/7 services with complex dependencies and multi-cloud architectures, preferably on AWS
- Experience in multi-cloud architectures and large-scale data processing systems
- Familiarity with software development practices, including writing clean, reusable code, and basic understanding of test-driven development and continuous integration.
- Working experience with docker/kubernetes, prometheus, grafana, gitlab CICD is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
