Job Description

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Turbulent, you'll be a key member of the DevOps & IT expertise group, collaborating daily with development teams across all projects. Your responsibilities include designing and managing the development infrastructure, building automation and deployment solutions using Kubernetes and CI/CD processes (GitLab), and ensuring the reliability of Turbulent's sites. You'll work with infrastructure automation frameworks (Saltstack, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef), scripting languages (bash, Python), and will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining the network infrastructure. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, collaboration, and effective communication in both French and English. On-call rotation is part of the responsibilities.
Must have:
  • 5+ years DevOps/SysOps experience
  • Kubernetes production experience (2+ years)
  • CI/CD mastery (GitLab)
  • Infrastructure automation (Saltstack/similar)
  • Linux administration
  • Scripting (Bash, Python)

En tant qu’ingénieur.e DevOps vous serez affecté.e au groupe d’expertise DevOps & IT pour l’ensemble des projets de Turbulent. Nous cherchons à bâtir une équipe d'expert.e.s DevOps qui seront impliqué.e.s au quotidien avec les équipes de développement. Vous auriez la chance de pouvoir intégrer une équipe en pleine croissance avec des défis stimulants et des succès d'équipe à relever.

Vous serez fortement impliqué.e dans l'élaboration de solutions d'automatisation et de déploiement pour exécuter les activités de développement et de systèmes de construction.

Turbulent s'efforce de construire des produits Cloud Native en tirant parti de la technologie cloud native alignée sur Cloud Native Computing Foundation. Votre position d'expert.e dans ce domaine vous amènera à interagir avec les équipes de développement de services et de plates-formes ainsi qu’à supporter leur flux de développement et de construction. Vous serez également responsable de la conception et de la gestion de l'infrastructure de développement sur laquelle tous les développeurs.euses de Turbulent s'appuient jour après jour pour livrer des produits de qualité à nos clients (MaZoneCEC, Ricardo, PleaseFix,Star Citizen..).

Vos réalisations et expériences antérieures

  • 2 ans+ d'expérience dans des environnements de production avec Kubernetes
  • 5 ans+ d'expérience en tant que DevOps / SysOps / administrateur.trice système
  • Expérience dans l'administration d'environnements basés sur GNU/Linux
  • Maîtrise des processus CI/CD (Gitlab)
  • Maîtrise des frameworks d'automatisation d'infrastructure comme Saltstack ou similaire (ansible / puppet / chef..)
  • Bonne compréhension des réseaux
  • Bonne connaissance des langages de scripts tels que: bash, python ou similaire...

Ce que vous brûlez d’envie d’accomplir

  • Travailler main dans la main avec les équipes de développement pour connaître leurs charges de travail, leur configuration et l’ensemble de leurs fonctionnalités.
  • Être en charge et en maîtrise de la technologie Cloud qui permet l'automatisation et le déploiement des fonctionnalités du projet.
  • Monter les serveurs pour les différents mandats, collaborer avec les développeurs.ses pour les déploiements et créer des processus d’automatisation
  • Trouver des solutions aux problèmes qui surviennent et être stratégique afin d'assurer la fiabilité des sites de Turbulent
  • Surveiller les alertes et les incidents afin d'agir immédiatement pendant votre quart de travail ou après les heures de travail si vous êtes sur appel. L'équipe DevOps de Turbulent est sur appel en rotation.
  • Surveiller, analyser et maintenir l'infrastructure réseau
  • Documenter, maintenir les fonctionnalités logicielles et les clusters de machines virtuelles
  • Développer et maintenir la documentation pertinente au troubleshooting concernant le design, le réseau, les dépendances, etc.
  • Participer aux tests système pour la sécurité, les performances, la résilience et la disponibilité
  • Participer à l'analyse de la planification des capacités et formuler des recommandations
  • Gérer les accès aux environnements
  • Explorer les opportunités afin d’ajouter de la valeur aux processus DevOps et à l'organisation
  • Offrir du support aux autres ingénieurs DevOps et SREs de votre équipe

What you will do

As a DevOps engineer you will be assigned to the DevOps & IT expertise group for all Turbulent projects. We are looking to build a team of DevOps experts who will be involved with the development teams on a daily basis. You will have the chance to join a growing team with exciting challenges and team successes.

You will be heavily involved in building automation and deployment solutions to run development workloads and build systems.

Turbulent strives to build Cloud Native products leveraging cloud native technology aligned with Cloud Native Computing Foundation. Your position as a subject matter expert in this area will require you to interact with the service and platform development teams as well as support their development and build flow.

You will also be responsible for the design and management of the development infrastructure that all Turbulent developers rely on day in and day out to deliver quality products to our customers (Ricardo, maZoneCEC, PleaseFix, Star Citizen..)

You are savvy in

You have

  • 2+ years experience in production environments with Kubernetes
  • 5+ years of experience as a DevOps / SysOps / System Administrator
  • Experience in administering GNU/Linux based environments
  • Mastery of CI/CD processes (Gitlab)
  • Mastery of infrastructure automation frameworks like Saltstack or similar (ansible / puppet / chef..)
  • Good understanding of networks
  • Good knowledge of scripting languages such as: bash, python or similar...

You are eager to take on

  • Working hand in hand with the development teams to get to know their workloads, configuration and feature set
  • Being in charge and in control of the Cloud technology that allows the automation and deployment of project features.
  • Setting up servers for the different mandates, collaborating with developers for deployments and creating automation processes
  • Finding solutions to issues that arise and being strategic in ensuring the reliability of Turbulent sites
  • Monitoring alerts and incidents to take immediate action during your shift or after hours if you are on call. Turbulent's DevOps team is on call on a rotating basis.
  • Monitoring, analyzing and maintaining the network infrastructure
  • Documenting, maintaining software features and virtual machine clusters
  • Developing and maintaining documentation relevant to troubleshooting regarding design, network, dependencies, etc.
  • Participating in system testing for security, performance, resiliency and availability
  • Participating in capacity planning analysis and making recommendations
  • Managing access to environments
  • Exploring opportunities to add value to DevOps processes and the organization
  • Providing support to other DevOps engineers and SREs on your team
