Shield AI’s mission is to protect the lives of service members and civilians with intelligent systems. The Mission Systems Engineering team contributes to this effort by specifying, designing, integrating, and flight testing both in-house and off-the-shelf hardware on both V-BAT and our next-generation aircraft. This team works cross-functionally, both in the office and at our flight testing facilities, to specify, integrate, and flight test avionics packages that enhance the mission capabilities of our aircraft.
As Senior Manager of the Mission Systems Engineering team, you will be responsible for the success of multiple engineers and leaders that report to you, in addition to your own engineering and design tasks. You will work with electrical, mechanical, software, and program management engineers on both the V-BAT and next-generation aircraft programs. You will perform some individual contributor work in addition to holding 1:1 meetings, writing reviews, and providing career guidance to your team. While leadership is an important part of this role, you are still expected to spend approximately 50% of your time as an individual contributor in your respective field.
