We are looking for a Reference System Engineer, who will be responsible for the development and testing of reference systems required to validate Valeo functions.
Job Overview
Your responsibilities in this role would be as follows:
- Support the current generation of reference systems (LiDAR, GPS, dGNSS, etc) including physical hardware installation, software configuration, calibration and maintenance
- Translate project requirements and deliver the solution through collaboration with developers of data recording, annotation and simulation tools
- Provide regular reporting on progress and risks to internal\external customers
- Implement tooling efficiencies for cost saving
- Generate architecture documents, carry out design reviews and provide timing plans with milestones
- Use Application Lifecycle Management for task tracking and bug reporting
- Generate and deliver training material for reference systems
- Interface reference systems with simulation tools
- Drive development of data annotation tools
- Collaboration with teams on other Valeo sites worldwide
Suitable candidate for this role should have:
- At least Bachelor’s degree (BSc \ MSc) in Physics.
- Hardware integration experience
- Understanding of standard communication protocols (UART, Ethernet, I2C, …)
- Basic knowledge of electronics and electronic circuits
- Fluency in (technical) English language (most of the daily communication is in English)
- Proactive learning approach: is able to research and teach oneself if knowledge in an area is insufficient, finds resources and masters new subjects without supervisory action
- Ability to travel to other Valeo and customer sites (worldwide, 4-8 weeks in a year)
- A valid driver's license
- Experience with Camera, LiDAR, GPS, dGNSS, INS
- Knowledge of Simultaneous Localisation And Mapping (SLAM)
- Basic experience with Python or similar coding\scripting languages
- Experience in automotive development is an advantage
