OKX is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel with strong regulatory and commercial experience to support Singapore and multi-jurisdictional matters in the fast-paced crypto and fintech industry. The role involves providing legal counsel to local management and senior stakeholders on Singapore and regional matters, handling regulatory issues, marketing campaigns, commercial contracts, internal investigations, product localizations, risk assessments, and protecting proprietary information. The counsel will also manage external parties and collaborate with risk, compliance, and licensing teams to monitor legal changes in cryptocurrency and technology across various jurisdictions.
Must have:
- Common law degree (LLB/JD).
- Trained in common law jurisdiction.
- Strong regulatory and commercial experience.
- Experience with complex/leveraged products.
- Sound judgment on business practices.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written).
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin.
- Commitment to team success.
- Understanding of virtual assets.
Good to have:
- In-house experience at financial/tech companies.
- Experience with data issues.
- Experience with crypto matters.

About the Opportunity
As we expand rapidly globally, we are looking for a highly energetic and motivated senior legal counsel with strong regulatory and commercial experience to assist with both Singapore and multi-jurisdictional matters in a fast-moving industry.
What You’ll Be Doing

- Provide counsel and support to local top management, as well as regional and global senior stakeholders, on Singapore law as well as regional matters.
- Handle local and regional regulatory matters, marketing campaign reviews, commercial contracts, internal investigations, product localisations, risk assessments, liability assessments, and protection of proprietary information and data.
- Manage external parties, including counterparties, external counsel and experts.
- Provide ad hoc legal advice to stakeholders within the group.
- Partner with our risk, compliance and licensing teams to provide ongoing support in monitoring the changes in the legal landscape relevant to cryptocurrency and technology in multiple jurisdictions.

What We Look For In You

- Common law degree holder (LLB / J.D.).
- Trained and qualified in a common law jurisdiction with strong contentious and non-contentious regulatory experience obtained in a reputable international law firm / organisation, preferably with experience in advising on complex/ leveraged products.
- Sound judgment on business practices, internal and external stakeholder relationship management and reputational risk.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, presentable and with excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Mandarin.
- Commitment to ensuring the team succeeds with all tasks, duties and projects and willingness to help a team member in need.
- Ability to approach situations and challenges with a sense of humour.
- Understand and have traded in virtual assets.

- In-house experience at financial institutions and/or tech companies.
- Experience in dealing with data issues.
- Experience in dealing with crypto matters a definite advantage.
