What you’d be doing in this role

This year the Content Management & Distribution team is on a mission to revolutionise their content management experience using AI. You’ll be working on a critical company goal building experiences that touch millions of users every day.

We have a unique opportunity for a Machine Learning Engineer to join this goal and help our teams deliver a suite of new AI Powered features.

What you’ll do

• Play a leading role in designing and prototyping new AI features that back Canva content management, designing and implement the most intricate aspects of the system, showcasing your aptitude for tackling complex technical challenges effectively.

• Propose innovative approaches and solutions to future-proof Canva's product decision platforms and deliver on business outcomes.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers in the Content Management & Distribution group, skilling them up in AI skills and helping them navigate technical challenges.

• Guide the implementation of major projects, planning task breakdown and keeping engineers in sync using excellent verbal and written communication skills, including architectural diagrams.

• Have a widespread impact across the organization by facilitating and orchestrating cross-team initiatives that set a higher standard for reliability, velocity, and security.

• Advocate for best practices that enhance our groups performance and reliability.

You’re probably a good match if

• You’ve applied machine learning to automate complex review processes, especially involving code, UI, or compliance

• You’re skilled in computer vision and screen analysis, and know how to extract insights from UI layouts

• You have experience using Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance automation and intelligent systems

• You know how to build recommendation systems that proactively assist developers

• You’re proficient in Python and ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn

• You thrive in cross-functional teams and enjoy collaborating with engineers, UX designers, and PMs

• You love solving real-world challenges by reducing friction and creating smart workflows through the use of AI
