Cineplex is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Content & Communications to lead high-impact internal and external communication initiatives across Canada. This role involves shaping the brand's perception through compelling narratives, media relations, employee engagement, and brand storytelling. Key responsibilities include designing media strategies, acting as a media contact, leading crisis communications, inspiring employees through internal communications, modernizing channels, creating content across various formats (press releases, blogs, social media, videos), ensuring content is audience-centric and bilingual, and developing integrated communication strategies. The role also supports consumer-facing campaigns and brand moments, working closely with marketing, digital, and creative teams.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, or related field
  • 7+ years of corporate communications, PR, or media relations experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Top-notch writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Collaborative and solution-focused mindset
Good to have:
  • Fully bilingual in English and French (written and spoken)
  • Experience in a publicly traded company
  • Experience working with Investor Relations
  • Data-savvy with experience measuring performance

Are you a natural storyteller with a strategic mindset and a passion for communications that move people? We're seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Content & Communications to lead and support high-impact communications initiatives—both internal and external—that shape how our brand is seen, heard, and felt across Canada. From crafting compelling narratives to managing media relations, employee engagement, and brand storytelling, this is a unique opportunity to join the team that brings the Cineplex experience to life through powerful, purpose-driven communications. In this role, you will manage:
 

Media & Public Relations

  • Design and drive proactive media strategies that grow brand visibility and reputation.

  • Act as a key media contact—responding to inquiries, prepping spokespeople, and building strong relationships with journalists in both English and French markets.

  • Play a leading role in crisis communications and media strategy.


Internal Communications

  • Inspire, inform, and engage Cineplex employees through meaningful internal communication.

  • Partner with HR and leadership to spotlight initiatives, foster culture, and build company-wide alignment.

  • Modernize our internal channels and tools to drive connection and efficiency.


Strategic Planning & Content Creation

  • Create and manage high-impact content across formats—press releases, speeches, newsletters, blogs, social media, videos, and more.

  • Ensure every piece of content is audience-centric, bilingual, and aligned with our brand voice and purpose.

  • Collaborate with creative and digital teams to amplify reach and engagement.

  • Develop and lead integrated communication strategies that support our business goals.

  • Manage campaign timelines, approvals, and calendars across departments and stakeholders.
     

Consumer PR & Brand Moments

  • Support consumer-facing campaigns and brand storytelling opportunities.

  • Work hand-in-hand with our Marketing, Digital, and Creative teams to bring brand moments to life across earned, owned, and paid media.


What You Bring to the Role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, PR, or media relations

  • 3+ years of leadership experience, managing teams or major cross-functional projects

  • Fully bilingual in English and French—written and spoken – is preferred

  • A proven track record of securing media coverage and building journalist relationships

  • Experience in a publicly traded company and working with Investor Relations is an asset

  • Top-notch writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats and channels

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines

  • A collaborative spirit and a proactive, solution-focused mindset

  • Data-savvy with experience measuring and improving communications performance
