About the team and the role:

eBay’s Global  Verticals include some of the key, multi-billion dollar, verticals that the company focuses on - including Vehicle’s Parts & Accessories, Vehicles, Electronics, and Fashion categories. These categories are among the largest on eBay and core to eBay’s strategic future and growth. Our Global Focus Categories Product organization plays a key role in enabling growth for our business, developing and delivering on our product roadmap. 

We are looking to hire a Senior Manager, Strategy & Ops within the Product organization. This individual will report to the Director, Strategy & Operations (Product) and will help drive critical initiatives that will drive growth for our business and value for our customers. This includes working closely with product management, engineering, design, and business leads, as well as other partners such as finance and marketing. This is an individual contributor role encouraged to drive strategic direction and execution of multiple initiatives globally in a matrix organization.

The ideal candidate is an independent, strategic, long-range problem solver who can understand the dynamics of two-sided e-commerce marketplaces, collaborates well with cross-functional partners, and possesses executive-ready communication skills.

What you will accomplish:

• Support short-term and long-term strategic direction and key critical initiatives within our business with a data-driven approach. This may include identification, case development, presenting to partners, and delivery of key strategic projects 

• Work with our Product Managers and other team members (e.g., business, engineering, user research, analytics) to shape our future product roadmap and drive business growth

• Collaborate with essential team members and partners across eBay to ensure effective product/business planning and smooth execution 

• Understand product and business performance and key drivers in buyer and seller funnels, as well as broader market dynamics and competitive landscape - identifying and completing various strategic opportunities

• Build and own executive-ready presentations on strategy and operational updates

What you will bring:

• 6+ years of related experience, including 2+ years at a credible management consulting firm, investment bank, or in a corporate strategy or business operations role at a major technology corporation

• BA/BS or equivalent experience required, MBA or similar graduate degree preferred

• Track record of strategic leadership, structured thinking, as well as ability to prioritize against multiple initiatives

• Ability to blend strategic and big picture thinking with hands-on execution

• Strong cross-functional leader who is also recognized as a collaborator and partner

• Data-driven approach to planning and decision making. Comfortable and hands-on with data, analytics, and modeling

• Experience working and partnering with a Product org - preferred 

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
