Senior Production Artist

Description

The Senior Production Artist is responsible for overseeing the art production and art implementation for multiple slot products on their development team. Production Artists research slot machine games and document art asset requirements, technical feasibility, art optimization, and functionality with input from product, design, and engineering. Production Artists layout, optimize and implement art assets, animations, and special effects into a mobile slot game, while maintaining the best possible quality, playability, and user experience. Production Artists provide development support to engineering and quality assurance staff throughout various stages of the game development pipeline.

Significant experience of the best practices to assemble, compress, and to efficiently deliver assets through the game development pipeline is essential. Production Artists are expected to have core artistic abilities or understanding of drawing, rendering, graphic design, color theory, layout, character design, and animation and how these specialties work together with software engineers in a development studio. At all times, Production Artists are expected to follow the expectations set forth by the Slot Development Art department.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform R&D to collaborate with product and design and establish optimal portability of slot machine to mobile slot product

· Orchestrate art and animation creation for technical functionality, optimal development, and visual fidelity while problem solving for technical limitations of mobile

· Assist in developing and refining current standards and processes with Production Art team and development teams

· Adhere to file structure in artistic source, directory and version management

· Collaborate between engineers, illustrators, animators, design, and product to guide art production for multiple projects from concept to final product delivery.

· Mentor art staff peers on best practices, leadership, and leads by example through quality of personal performance and positive attitude.

· Strong desire to continue improving skills through independent learning and seeks feedback from team members.

· Display a high degree of professionalism at all times, accepting critique from team members

· Show efficiency in self-managing time with a reasonable degree of accountability and minimal instruction

· Optimize art assets for all aspects of the product including UI, Composition, VFX, Animations

· Assist art and development team members in all of the above

Requirements

Education:

· Bachelor of Arts in art/animation or technical degree or equivalent industry experience.

· Required Experience: At least 3 years previous experience as a digital artist with a considerable amount of unity development experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Ability to follow direction and accept constructive criticism

• Excellent organizational skills, problem solving skills, and high attention to detail

• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Unity

• General understanding of UI design and development in Unity

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Understanding of how to design art for various themes and target platform

• Working knowledge of production tools (Jira, Confluence, Stash/Git)

• Working knowledge of MS Office

Level Requirements:

• Portfolio (website or blog required for pre-interview)
