SUMMARY
The Senior Project Manager, AGI manages large-scale, high impact projects to support the rapid growth of the Ansys Government Initiatives (AGI) business. The Senior Project Manager directs the daily activities of team members on multiple projects to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate should have a strong program management background and demonstrated success managing large, complex programs. This role, reporting to the VP, Strategic Operations, AGI, is an excellent opportunity to impact business unit growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct large-scale, complex projects that involve multiple internal & external stakeholders
Develop the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts
Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria
Define and track project milestones
Directly facilitate program steering committee meetings and conduct periodic briefings/status updates to various levels of the organization for assigned areas
Ensure all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company
Lead cross-functional meetings & foster teamwork; identify gaps/misalignments and drive escalation/resolution of issues
Manage program-level risks and interdependencies
Assess and resolve all high priority project risks as they are encountered
Provide steady leadership in the face of uncertainty, change, and aggressive deadlines common to a rapidly growing company with an evolving business model
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of 3 years of project management experience
Experience in B2B technology, preferably with background in the government space
Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills, including the ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace, and execute with limited information and ambiguity
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision
Strong influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to navigate in a highly matrixed organization effectively
Ability to quickly build rapport and strong relationships with team members & key stakeholders
Self-motivated with a clear sense of urgency
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PMP/PMI Certification preferred
