Senior QA Manager - Madrid - All resumes in English please

 

Role Overview

To manage the QA Department for assigned projects & staff: managing test process & submissions, planning of resources internally, ensuring the highest quality of product to deadlines, coordinating all related staff & departmental issues. Working in the Madrid office and reporting to the SVP of QA/General Manager.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervision of allocated projects.
  • Supervision of QA Managers, Senior Lead QA Testers, Lead QA Testers, Associate Lead QA Testers, Sr. QA Testers, and QA Testers.
  • Feedback & liaison with Functional & Compliance QA, Producers, Developers, & other External Departments.
  • Liaison with Platform Holders to ensure guidelines & standards compliance.
  • Joint sign-off of development milestones & managing the submission process.
  • Manage bug reports, bug database, & QA reports.
  • Manage department through day-to-day business.
  • Quarterly performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Raising disciplinary issues as appropriate.
  • Build successful working relationships with Worldwide Development Studios Internal & External, QA Department locally & globally, Local Producers, Platform Holders, Producers, and Developers, and Third Party Developers Internal & External.
  • Actively participate in recruiting and interview process.

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, internally & externally.
  • Management skills to include: successfully handling ambiguity, flexibility & understanding of the development process, and maintain good relations with producers & developers.
  • Knowledge of bug database systems, QA process, test plan creation, and bug writing process.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a QA Manager or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of format holder standards (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo).
  • Hardworking, reliable, punctual, flexibility to work unsociable hours depending on deadlines.
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite, Source Control and Visual Studio.
  • Technically proficient with PCs, gaming consoles, and related hardware.
  • Ability to liaise with other departments.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be able to communicate effectively & successfully in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience.
  • Passion for the video games industry.
  • Willingness to adopt a broad overview of the department.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication skills, and management skills.
  • Reliable with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and positive personality to foster excellent working relationships.
