Job Description

Motive is seeking a Senior Sales Compensation Analyst to ensure accurate and timely administration of Sales Incentive plans, including sales incentive calculation for payroll processing. This role involves data accuracy, cross-functional collaboration, and managing commission accruals. Responsibilities include performing payroll processing, analyzing payments, resolving inquiries, preparing monthly commission accruals, updating commissions software with compensation plan changes, and supporting sales compensation initiatives with finance, sales operations, and HR. The analyst will also create Adhoc reports, participate in annual comp planning and UAT, identify process improvements, perform monthly reconciliations, and assist in documenting processes and controls.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Sales Compensation Analyst to ensure timely and accurate administration of our Sales Incentive plans. This role will be instrumental in assisting with sales incentive calculation for payroll processing. We’re seeking a dynamic analyst, someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels in data accuracy, and enjoys cross-functional collaboration

 

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate administration and calculation of all sales incentive plans.
  • Perform payroll processing which includes payment analysis, researching anomalies and preparing file for payment processing
  • Research and resolve inquiries from variable compensation eligible employees on commissions plan payouts
  • Prepare and submit the monthly commission accrual ensuring timeliness and accuracy as part of the month-end close process
  • Update the commissions software with compensation plan changes including HR data changes, new hires, termination and LOAs (leave of absences) to ensure commission calculations are accurate and reps are paid timely.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives related to sales compensation, which includes: collaborating with finance, sales operations, HR and other cross-functional groups.
  • Create and manage Adhoc reports as assigned.
  • Participate in the annual comp planning process and enhancements.
  • Participating in UAT to ensure the system enhancements and new plan year changes produces the expected results.
  • Identify opportunities for ongoing process improvements and automation.
  • Monthly reconciliations of accrual vs actual payments
  • Assist in documenting and preparing department processes and controls.

What We're Looking For:

  • 2-3 years of commissions administration experience, preferably at a SaaS company (software/high growth a must)
  • Proven ability to manage monthly commission accruals and support efficient month-end close cycles.
  • Proven ability to conduct monthly reconciliations between accrual estimates and actual disbursements
  • Proficient in the use of G-Suite (G-Mail, Google Sheets, Google Docs) and SFDC
  • Must be highly detail oriented and organized
  • Must be able to understand organization priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, strong work ethic and customer service focus
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external partners
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
