SailPoint is seeking a Senior SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) to join their Non-employee Risk Management Team. This is a remote position based in Mexico. The role involves mastering Identity Governance and influencing the quality and direction of SailPoint products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and implementing automation frameworks across various testing layers (unit, contract, API, performance, E2E UI). Responsibilities include driving automation projects, creating test plans, mentoring other test engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction. Must have:
  • 5+ years in SDET/Automation Test Engineering
  • 5+ years designing/maintaining functional UI test frameworks (Cypress, Selenium, Playwright)
  • 3+ years designing/maintaining automated API integration tests (Pactflow, TestNG, PyTest)
  • 2+ years developing/maintaining performance tests (k6, karate, loadster)
  • Experience mentoring test engineers on automation best practices
  • Experience with monitoring and system logs (Datadog)
  • Experience with CI/CD
  • Collaborate to create comprehensive test plans
  • Verify quality of features, act as customer advocate
  • Manage multiple testing initiatives

Our Non-employee Risk Management Team is looking for a passionate SDET interested in mastering the world of Identity Governance. As you acquire knowledge of this critical and growing industry, you will employ that to influence the quality and direction of SailPoint products.

A successful SDET should come prepared with a wealth of experience in identifying, development, and implementing a wide variety of automation frameworks with relation to all layers of the testing trophy (unit, contract, API integration, performance and functional E2E UI testing suites). In addition to this, you will also have a strong set of troubleshooting skills, experience creating extensive test plans, and ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards. We are looking for someone capable of driving several projects to completion from a quality perspective. Your primary responsibilities will include development/implementation of automated testing frameworks, mentoring and empowering other Test Engineers to utilize these frameworks, and creation/maintenance of test plans to ensure proper automation coverage is provided throughout all our projects.

You will:

  • Have 5+ years of experience in a SDET/Automation Test Engineering role.

  • Have 5+ years of designing, developing, and maintaining functional UI test framework with frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright.

  • Have 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated integration testing of APIs with tools such as Pactflow, TestNG, PyTest, or Selenium.

  • Have 2+ years developing and/or maintaining performance tests with frameworks such as k6, karate, or loadster.

  • Have experience acting as a technical mentor to help drive adoption of new frameworks and automation testing best practices to other test engineers team and all or our software engineering teams.

  • Have experience working with monitoring and system logs (Datadog or other tools) to help identify potential defects. Experience with implementing anomaly detection and synthetic testing is a plus.

  • Have experience working with CI/CD to help drive parallel development of test coverage alongside release code to optimize deployment quality.

  • Collaborate with engineers, engineering managers, and product managers to create comprehensive test plans that provide thorough test coverage for both critical and edge case scenarios based on business requirements.

  • Be responsible for verifying the quality of features added or enhanced within the product, acting as a customer advocate to ensure that SailPoint offerings are well-designed and easy to use.

  • Be able to manage multiple testing initiatives spanning multiple teams.

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of test data and environments.

  • Work with other Test Engineering team members to learn best practices for how to test SailPoint products and help strengthen our overall test coverage.

  • Have experience working in agile environments and proficiency with project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.

  • Have excellent written and oral English communication skills.

  • Develop, promote, and maintain quality standards and quality control systems.

  • Gain knowledge in the Identity Governance domain, via hands-on learning and formal training sessions.

  • Be able to question design and implementation decisions, and when necessary, to stop the delivery of code until critical issues are resolved.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience testing SaaS applications.

  • Experience with security testing.

  • Experience with accessibility testing.

  • Experience working with a distributed team.
