Senior Security Software Engineer, Network Security

Roblox runs a global scale network with a number of data centers and public clouds to provide services to millions of users, and creates a broad threat landscape. As a Senior Security Software Engineer on the Network Security pod, you will help shape and implement our network security strategy and controls. You'll have a big impact while collaborating with security and cross-functional teams to secure our networks, protect our services and platforms.

In this role, you will be part of the Platform Security team, reporting to the Director of Platform Security. You’ll work closely with other people in the Information Security (InfoSec) team as well as partner with multiple Roblox infrastructure engineering teams.

You will

• Identify security vulnerabilities & gaps in our network infrastructure, propose solutions and drive engineering effort for implementation, partner with our infrastructure teams on improvements.
• Design, develop, and optimize novel solutions & systems using your software engineering skills and system thinking, to protect Roblox’s networks from external threats and internal risks.
• Provide design reviews & guidelines from network security perspective for Roblox’s tools, services, and platforms.

You have

• 4+ years: of relevant professional experience.
• Programming Proficiency: Able to write high-performance code for large scale distributed services with at least one programming language such as Golang or C++, and you are eager to learn new languages and technologies.
• Hands-on experience: Designing and building production level services in fields of networking and security, such as L4/L7 network proxies, load balancers, IDS/IPS, firewalls, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of: Network routings and protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, etc.), attack vectors, techniques, and remediations.
• Experience with: advanced packet processing technologies and frameworks, such as DPDK, eBPF, is a big plus.
