Job Description

Wizards of the Coast is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer (Quality) for a maternity cover contract in Poland. This hybrid role involves implementing quality strategies, developing procedures and tools, assisting engineering teams with exploratory testing, and identifying risks. The engineer will also be responsible for test automation, load testing, and collaborating with Platform Engineering on the developer platform. Candidates need 5+ years of experience in quality or test automation, proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Playwright, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), AWS, and strong problem-solving skills. Occasional flexibility for US time zones is required.
Good To Have:
  • Familiarity with C# and .NET framework.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, Pulumi).
  • Experience using Kubernetes.
  • Experience with building Node.js and serverless applications using AWS Lambda.
  • Experience with mobile test automation frameworks, e.g., Appium.
  • Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog for monitoring, logging, and tracing.
  • A passion for Dungeons & Dragons (D&D).
Must Have:
  • Implement overall quality strategy within supported services and teams.
  • Develop and introduce quality-related procedures and tools.
  • Assist engineering teams through exploratory test sessions and identify potential risks.
  • Identify and plan the necessary test coverage and implement test automation suites using existing toolset, together with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Build and maintain auxiliary tooling for user and test data management and test infrastructure.
  • Plan and assist the execution of non-functional tests (performance, security, accessibility).
  • Capture quality-related metrics and build vital dashboards.
  • Deliver training for other software engineers on test automation, load testing, and other testing activities.
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a quality engineer, test automation engineer, or similar role.
  • Experience in testing the entire stack of modern web applications.
  • Demonstrable understanding of agile and quality assurance principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Proficiency in Playwright or other web test automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in automating CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or other tools.
  • Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure in AWS and containerized workloads.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience planning and performing load testing using k6 or similar tools.

Maternity Contract cover required - Embark on an epic interim quest with D&D Beyond as a Sr. Software Development Engineer – Quality.

You will need to be already based in Poland to be considered for this contract role. Play the Game:

In your toolkit, you will need:

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a quality engineer, test automation engineer, or similar role
  • Experience in testing the entire stack of modern web applications
  • Demonstrable understanding of agile and quality assurance principles and methodologies
  • Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Proficiency in Playwright or other web test automation frameworks
  • Proficiency in automating CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or other tools
