Job Details

Make is the leading visual platform for anyone to design, build, and automate anything—from tasks and workflows to apps and systems—without the need for coding skills. We are headquartered in the flourishing tech hub of Prague, Czech Republic, and our teams are spread across the USA, UK, Germany, France, Canada, India and Chile, among other locations.

Why do we love building Make (and why you might, too)?

We are developers and we take it for granted that we can solve pretty much anything by writing software. But what if someone is not a developer or doesn't have access to one? Chances are that they will end up doing the same boring tasks over and over, copy-pasting data from one place to another, wasting time on low-value work instead of doing something way more impactful.

With Make, we give anyone the opportunity to build powerful automations in a way that almost feels like a game. We give anyone a chance to experience the joy of building something that just works. We turn regular people into makers.

About the Team

The Typhon team is a core engineering team at Make, specializing in monetization and tracking customer consumption of operations. Our primary focus is maintaining the pricing framework, enabling other product teams to define how new features function across different product tiers.

We manage the integration with Stripe, our billing provider, ensuring seamless invoice and subscription processing. Additionally, we collaborate with the Marketing and Growth teams, supporting their initiatives with a robust framework of coupons, promo codes, and other discounts.

The Typhon team consists of six engineers who often collaborate in our Prague office. Beyond coding, we enjoy a good game of foosball and firmly believe that the best meetings happen while grilling on the terrace. We also share a love for capybaras and take pride in coming up with very silly birthday gift ideas.

What you’ll do

  • Become part of a cross-functional product team working on the core components of the Make product.
  • Design and develop innovative solutions, and build new product features.
  • Improve existing code to enhance maintainability, performance, reliability, and resiliency of our systems.
  • Write and maintain tests.
  • Ship code to production.
  • Automate repetitive work.
  • Write and review RFCs and technical documentation.
  • Review and give feedback on the work of others.
  • Grow and help others grow professionally.
  • If you like, you can participate in cross-cutting initiatives and influence how engineering practices and tooling evolve at Make.
  • Have fun at work :)

Our Tech stack

What we expect from you

You know what it takes to build a performant web app that feels great to work with, because you did it a couple of times already. You have experience building and maintaining back-end services, understand the demands of running a service in production, and know how to ensure its health. You can contribute confidently to both the back-end and front-end of our app stack, even if you have a preference for front-end. You are familiar with common software design patterns and have applied them in your work. You produce readable, well-documented, and tested code. You can engage in informed technical discussions, backing your opinions with facts and data. Specifically, we are looking for the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience in developing complex front-ends or SPAs (5+ years for senior)
