Job Description

Google Cloud is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) team. In this role, you will be shaping the future of Kubernetes and GKE, while contributing to an evolving technology landscape. This is an unparalleled opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of cloud-native applications and AI integrations. You will design, code, test, and operate GKE cloud services while collaborating with the team. You will also help deliver high-quality and usable products to our customers and shape the culture of the team to be a high-executing team that is fun to work in.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
5 years of experience with software development
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products
1 year of experience with software design and architecture
Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other similar cloud technologies

Good to have:

4 years of experience with Machine Learning Infra
3 years of experience with the Kubernetes/Containerization ecosystem
Experience building and operating large-scale cloud services
Experience working with networking, Linux Kernel Modules or Storage
Experience contributing to Open Source projects
Track record of ideation and innovating technology at scale

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other similar cloud technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

4 years of experience with Machine Learning Infra (GPU, Cloud TPU), or deep learning frameworks (e.g., Tensorflow, PyTorch, JAX), algorithms and tools (e.g., Kubeflow, Ray.io, MLflow).
3 years of experience with the Kubernetes/Containerization ecosystem.
Experience building and operating large-scale cloud services.
Experience working with networking, Linux Kernel Modules or Storage.
Experience contributing to Open Source projects.
Track record of ideation and innovating technology at scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
