Job Description

The Senior Software Engineer, IAP at Unity will join a team focused on LiveOps, enabling creators to build successful businesses around their games. The IAP team provides packages and services for developers to monetize players through digital and physical goods. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and technical leadership to deliver high-quality solutions on time, focusing on scalable services and data architecture.
Must have:
  • Work with robust, performant, and scalable cloud technologies.
  • Design and implement functionality for various data and services use cases.
  • Collaborate with your team to develop features supporting IAP and e-commerce.
  • Help plan and execute key initiatives for IAP and e-commerce.
  • Possess strong knowledge of service and client architectures, modern cloud technologies and architectures.
  • Demonstrate solid programming skills (Golang/Java/C# and other backend/SDK languages).
  • Have experience in designing highly scalable distributed systems.
Good to have:
  • Successfully shipped game backends or SDKs for non-gaming SaaS businesses.
  • Led teams as an engineering manager or technical lead.
  • Familiarity with the Unity engine and game development.

The opportunity

A component of this is LiveOps, which studios build successful businesses around their live service games.

The IAP team provides a package and supporting services for developers to be able to monetize the players in this game. This includes digital and physical goods. As an engineer on the team, you'll be working with the team, cross-functional stakeholders, and engineering leadership to ensure that we can deliver on our roadmap on time, and with quality.

The team is based in North America and Europe and the role may involve limited travel to other Unity offices in order to meet your colleagues.

What you'll be doing

  • Working with cloud technologies with an eye for robust, performant and scalable solutions.
  • Designing and implementing functionality for a range of data and services use cases.
  • Collaborating with your team to deliver functionality to support IAP and e-commerce.
  • Helping plan and execute key initiatives for IAP and e-commerce.

What we're looking for

  • Knowledge of services and client architecture, modern cloud technologies and architectures.
  • Solid programming skills (Golang/Java/C# and other backend/SDK languages) and experience in designing highly scalable distributed systems.
