The Senior SQL Developer with DBA role in the Client Discovery, Planning and Wealth Way team at a Global Investment Bank involves designing and developing large-scale applications, collaborating on user requirements using TDD, creating end-to-end data pipelines, analyzing incident root causes, and performing SQL programming and DB administration. Good To Have:

TSQL (MSSQL/SYBASE) code development, performance tuning, query optimization
Extensive batch/ETL creation experience
Strong ETL knowledge (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks)

Must Have:

5+ years SQL programming experience
Strong performance tuning & DBA skills
Excellent understanding of relational databases (MSSQL, Azure SQL)
Experience with MS Azure cloud platforms
Develop large-scale applications
Collaborate on user requirements via TDD

Project description

You'll be working in the Client Discovery, Planning and Wealth Way team. We provide engineering services to WMA business divisions of the Global Investment Bank. Together as a team, we provide solutions to unique business/market requirements per established Corporate IT Standards. As a database specialist, you'll play an important role in developing functionalities and client-facing applications.

Responsibilities

Design and develop large-scale applications

Collaborate to refine user requirements through test-driven development (TDD)

Working on creating end-to-end pipeline to load data by reading from multiple sources and load to landing layer or SQL tables

Analyze root causes of incidents and provide the solution

SQL Programming and DB administration

Working on performance running in MSSQL \ Azure SQL

Skills

Must have

5+ years of experience in SQL programming

Strong experience in performance tuning and DBA activities

Excellent understanding of relation transactional databases like MSSQL, Azure SQL and cloud-based frameworks like MS Azure

Experience with Cloud platforms\tools (Azure is preferable)

Nice to have

Experience in TSQL (MSSQL/SYBASE) code development, performance tuning, query optimization and extensive batch or ETL creation experience with better error handling.

Strong knowledge of Extraction Transformation and Loading (ETL) processes using frameworks like Azure Data Factory or Synapse or Databricks.
