Job Description

Marvell is seeking a Senior Staff Firmware Engineer to architect, design, and develop firmware for reliable, scalable, high-performing SERDES/PCIE IPs using C/C++. This role involves developing new features, enhancing existing ones for AI infrastructure products, troubleshooting hardware bring-up, and working with cross-functional teams to solve customer issues. The engineer will also analyze and investigate methods to enhance firmware performance and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

  • Architect, design and develop firmware for reliable, scalable, high performing SERDES/PCIE IPs using C/C++.
  • Develop new features and enhance existing features for AI infrastructure connecting products by designing firmware and algorithms tailored for Marvell mixed signal hardware-based accelerators.
  • Develop software and troubleshoot issues related to hardware bring-up, multi-threaded software development with virtualized hardware.
  • Work with application engineers (AE), product managers and cross functional hardware/software engineers to investigate and solve customer issues.
  • Analyze and investigate methods to enhance firmware performance on Marvell SoC/IP by using existing hardware and simulators and suggest future hardware/software design improvements.
  • Plan, schedule, estimate efforts for projects and provide technical guidance to junior engineers during execution.
  • Work on MCU based SERDES/PCIe products, design and develop firmware and software for networking and switching products.
  • BS / MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields and 5-10 years of related professional experience.
  • Proficiency in C/C++.
  • Experience with RTOS or Scheduler.
  • Experience with Microcontroller embedded firmware with mixed signal products.
  • Experience with Hardware bring-up on microcontroller with IDE through JTAG, SW.
  • Familiarity with SERDES/PCIE protocol.
  • Familiarity with Github and Jira.

  • Architect, design and develop firmware for reliable, scalable, high performing SERDES/PCIE IPs using C/C++.

What We're Looking For

  • BS / MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields and 5-10 years of related professional experience with:
  • C/C++
  • RTOS or Scheduler
  • Microcontroller embedded firmware with mixed signal products
  • Hardware bring-up on microcontroller with IDE through JTAG, SW
  • SERDES/PCIE protocol familiarity
  • Github and Jira familiarity
  • Python is a plus
  • Github Copilot is a plus

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

124,420 - 186,400, $ per annum

The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
