Job Description

The Senior Staff, Information Security Engineer will be responsible for defining security requirements, implementing new security solutions, and collaborating with various departments. The role involves developing project charters, performing testing and data analysis, and presenting reports. They will guide the selection and implementation of security technologies, optimize processes, and maintain security policies. This is a hybrid role and requires the candidate to report to the Escazu, Costa Rica office three days a week.
Good To Have:

Must Have:

We’re looking for a Sr Staff, Information Security Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced cybersecurity team, reporting to the Director of Security Strategy, Transformation & Vendor Risk Management. This is a hybrid role, reporting into the Escazu, Costa Rica office 3 days a week. You will be:

  • Defining security requirements and collaborating across departments (IT, Engineering, Legal, Communications, etc.) to implement new security solutions and enhancements
  • Developing project charters, defining security requirements and use cases, performing testing/data analysis, and delivering reports and presentations for senior stakeholders
  • Guiding and project managing the selection and implementation of security technologies and tools
  • Driving continuous improvement by optimizing processes, adopting best practices, and staying updated on emerging technologies
  • Creating and maintaining security policies, standards, and operational procedures

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT roles, encompassing technical program/project management, requirements analysis, security design, and solution implementation
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading improvement initiatives in cybersecurity or technology, with hands-on experience in requirements gathering and risk assessment
  • Experience in collaborating and communicating with stakeholders across all levels and teams in multiple geographies
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies and security best practices for SaaS and public cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiarity with common cybersecurity frameworks and regulations such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC2, and GDPR

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Certifications in Cybersecurity Management, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Expertise in assessing and mitigating cybersecurity risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and evaluating the effectiveness and maturity of security controls in alignment with industry standards.
  • Experience working with Zscaler's product portfolio or similar platforms in large-scale corporate IT or production environments, encompassing cyber threat protection, data security, zero trust networking, and risk management.
