As a Technical Program Manager in Unity's engine organization, you'll partner with product and engineering leaders to expand our powerful creator experience across various teams. You will strategically align technology with business objectives, bringing updates and new functionality to the Editor and game developers worldwide. You are passionate about empowering diverse global teams, balancing processes with people, and leading with trust & empathy in an ever-evolving tech landscape.
Good To Have:
  • Experience navigating large tech corporations, ensuring alignment and approvals from senior executives.
  • Familiarity with the games industry, game development, game engines, or related fields.
  • Certification in project management practices (e.g., PMP, Agile, Scrum).
Must Have:
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and internal stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Execute and monitor projects, ensuring clarity at all stages and successful delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders, proactively managing risk and dependencies.
  • Drive for improvements and change in processes and ways of working.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, project management, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and engineering processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Experience creating and managing capacity plans, project schedules, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Results-oriented, organized, methodical, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Proactive, curious mentality, willing to ask questions and dig for answers.
  • Comfortable distilling available data from projects and user data to guide decisions and results.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira.

What you'll be doing

  • Collaborating with engineering teams and internal stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines. Drive alignment of project output, technical and operational objectives.
  • Executing and monitoring of projects, ensuring clarity at all stages, developing and maintaining project plans, milestones, and capacity plans to ensure successful delivery. Establish clear tracking mechanisms for project progress and deliverables. Provide regular status updates and reports to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, risks, and next steps.
  • Communicating with teams and stakeholders utilizing soft leadership skills. Help to break down silos, resolve ambiguity and ensure clear communications for all parties, proactively managing risk and dependencies.
  • Drive for improvements and change - you are not satisfied with the status quo and strive to improve our processes and the way we work, from individual contributors to stakeholders and executives.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, project management, or a related role, preferably within a technology or engineering-focused organization.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and engineering processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience creating and managing capacity plans, project schedules, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Results-oriented, organized, and methodical. Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Demonstrate a proactive, curious mentality; be willing to ask questions, and and dig for your own answers as well
  • Comfortable with distilling available data from projects and user data to guide decisions and results.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira

You might also have
