We are seeking a skilled Senior Web Content Developer to lead a team supporting the Army University Press in the development and publication of high-quality academic and professional content. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled professional with expertise in leading teams in converting InDesign articles into accessible HTML and PDF formats, managing social media content, editing and designing printed materials on online articles. Responsibilities include managing multidisciplinary teams, preparing administrative reports, coordinating with government management, ensuring web and PDF content adheres to WCAG 2.1, PDF/UA, and Section 508 compliance, monitoring digital performance, remediating PDF documents, and producing accessible audio formats. The role also involves implementing responsive designs, managing content updates, applying UX and SEO best practices, and collaborating with stakeholders to promote digital accessibility.
Must have:

The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled professional with expertise in leading teams in converting InDesign articles into accessible HTML and PDF formats, managing social media content, editing and designing printed materials on online articles.
                          
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage a multidisciplinary team of designers and developers across digital platforms.
  • Prepare administrative reports and briefings.
  • Coordinate with government management personnel.
  • Ensure web and PDF content adheres to WCAG 2.1, PDF/UA, and Section 508 compliance standards.
  • Monitor digital performance using Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and the Digital Analytics Program (DAP) to inform content strategy and UX improvements.
  • Remediate PDF documents using tools such as PAC 2024 Checker.
  • Utilize text-to-speech tools to produce accessible audio formats from textual content.
  • Implement responsive designs using the Bootstrap CSS framework.
  • Manage content updates using DotNetNuke or similar platforms.
  • Apply best practices in User Experience and Search Engine Optimization.
  • Analyze digital engagement using Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and social media insights.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to promote digital accessibility across platforms.
  • Stay current with evolving web technologies, accessibility laws, and federal standards.
Education/Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Web Design, Graphic Design, or a related field (master's preferred)
Other Qualifications
  • Must be a United States citizen and be able to pass a background check
  • Possess clear and precise oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Able to meet requirements to work on military installation, including having a valid state driver's license and car insurance
  • Be self-motivated with ability to establish priorities and effectively manage time to complete multiple tasks within specified timeframes
  • Be organized with a strong sense of urgency
  • Adhere to established guidelines and procedures
  • Demonstrate high standards of quality and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
