Job Description
Brace Yourself Games is looking for a part-time Social Media & Community Manager to join their small, but mighty team, and help build and engage with vibrant communities around their games Crypt of the NecroDancer, Rift of the NecroDancer, and Phantom Brigade. This role involves representing the brand, crafting witty posts, keeping communities fun and friendly, and being the heart of their online presence. They are looking for a quick learner with a sense of fun, a passion for indie games, and a desire to build inclusive communities, welcoming those just starting their career or from non-traditional backgrounds.
Must have:
- Create and coordinate day-to-day content across social channels
- Hang out in Discord and comments sections, ensuring communities are welcoming and safe
- Support players by troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and providing resources
- Work closely with Communications Director and internal dev teams
- Be the voice of our community internally, gathering feedback and reporting back
Good to have:
- Video editing skills
- Graphic design skills
- Experience with managing and moderating a Discord server or other community spaces
- Active in other gaming communities and know what makes them tick

Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Social Media Content Creation: Create and coordinate day-to-day content across our social channels (X/Twitter, Bluesky, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, etc.) Think GIFs, video clips, and posts that spark conversation.
- Community Management: Hang out in our Discord and comments sections. You’ll be a friendly face, a helpful guide, and occasionally a firm hand, ensuring our communities are welcoming and safe for everyone.
- Customer Support: Support players by troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and providing resources.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Communications Director and internal dev teams to align on messaging, share community feedback, and coordinate announcements.
- Feedback Funneling: Be the voice of our community internally, gathering feedback and reporting back to the team.
What We’re Looking For:
- A witty, but uplifting and kind sense of humour (we don’t put other people or brands down).
- Strong writing skills and a natural feel for tone, audience, and voice.
- Experience with social media platforms (primarily TikTok, X/Twitter, Bluesky, Instagram, and YouTube), and an understanding of online communities.
- Empathy, patience, and an ability to handle respectful feedback with grace.
- An eye for detail and the ability to work independently.
- A willingness to learn and grow – we value curiosity and humility as much as experience
Bonus Points For:
- Video editing or graphic design skills.
- Experience with managing and moderating a Discord server or other community spaces.
- You're active in other gaming communities and you know what makes them tick.
