About the role
We're looking for a Social Media Manager, fluent in German and English, who knows and loves anime. You'll create engaging content, adapt global campaigns, and connect with fans across EMEA.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Social Media, you'll run channels, collaborate with teams, and engage with a passionate community. You'll also work with the Audience Development team, which manages a massive social network of 130M+ followers. If you’re all about anime and fandom culture, this role is for you!
We are considering applicants for our London office and are able to support relocation for applicants based in Germany.
What You'll Do
- Create and share engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, and other social media platforms.
- Adapt global campaigns for EMEA audiences, with a focus on the German market.
- Manage daily community interactions and promote anime titles to grow and engage fans.
- Work with brand, editorial, PR, and content teams to launch effective campaigns.
- Track, analyze, and report on social media performance.
- Stay on top of social and anime trends to keep content fresh and relevant.
- Collaborate with editorial to drive traffic to Crunchyroll News.
- Maintain Crunchyroll’s authentic voice and build strong fan connections.
- Monitor metrics and adjust strategies to improve results.
- Run and track paid social media campaigns.
- Occasionally manage social channels during evenings and weekends.
- Experiment with new platforms, formats, and trends to keep Crunchyroll ahead of the curve.
About You

- You have 5+ years of experience in social media or community marketing, with a strong background in D2C, ideally in entertainment or media.
- You're fluent in English and German, with strong writing skills and attention to detail.
- You’re deeply knowledgeable and passionate about anime, with a strong understanding of fandom culture.
- You know major social platforms inside and out, tailoring content for each and guiding others on best practices.
- You’ve launched creative, successful social campaigns, including paid media.
- You use data and analytics to drive growth and engagement.
- You have intermediate or higher skills in Adobe Photoshop or similar tools.
- You’re comfortable with project management tools to handle social requests and teamwork.
- You understand fandoms in the German market—whether anime, gaming, comics, sports, music, or pop culture.
- You have a sharp eye for internet culture, trends, and storytelling.
