Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) is a cloud native Security Service Edge (SSE) solution that builds on a decade of secure web gateway leadership. We're looking for an experienced Software Architect to join our Core Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) team. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Software Development Engineering, you'll be responsible for:
- Ongoing innovation and enhancement of our Cloud Firewall and Web Proxy solution
- Architect solutions to prevent complex attacks, intrusions, and data loss using Zero Trust architecture
- Offer architectural guidance to identify potential threats and assessing risk levels across policies and access controls
- Plan architectural changes to respond to risk and the latest security standards
What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- 15+ years software development experience in large-scale commercial networking oriented applications and you have expert-level programming skills in C and UNIX/Linux/RTOS and are an expert in complete software development cycle
- You are experienced in Load balancers, IPS/IDS, Routers, or Firewall products in multi-threading / multi-core / fault tolerant real-time embedded platforms.
- You have experience with TCP/IP, High performance Computing, Event-based programming, and Fault Tolerance
- BS degree (Engineering/Computer Science)
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience with FreeBSD-based networking solutions
- Knowledge of HTTP and web proxies
- Experience in Cloud-based Networking solutions and some small company/startup experience

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
