Job Description

The Trading and Risk Management System (TRMS) team develops and maintains front and back office trading web applications using Python and Beacon frameworks. The role involves contributing to platform growth, ensuring code hygiene, and effective communication with internal teams and clients. The manager will also ensure team processes are followed, improved, and will be responsible for personnel development and evaluation to ensure efficient operation and positive employee engagement.
Must have:
  • Lead a team to design, develop, enhance, and maintain Trading and Risk Management applications.
  • Collaborate with clients to adapt and customize the cloud-hosted Trading Risk Management platform.
  • Gather and analyze requirements and product enhancements with internal and external clients.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to the team.
  • Participate in Agile meetings to contribute with development strategies and product roadmap.
  • Provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Communicate with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates, and meet production deadlines.
  • Resolve conflict within and across teams and drive consensus to achieve common goals.
  • Provide technical feedback and guidance on architecture, code review, and best practices.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a development team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer science fundamentals.
  • Fluent in Python or similar object-oriented language.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with fast-paced and strongly collaborative environments.

Job Summary:

The Trading and Risk Management System (TRMS) team is responsible for developing, supporting and maintaining our front and back office trading web applications using Python, the proprietary Beacon Dependency Graph and Glint, the Beacon UI framework.

The successful candidate will contribute to the growth of the platform, exercising an eye for detail across all aspects of the development lifecycle while maintaining organization and good code hygiene. This engineer should be able to effectively communicate both with internal teams and with clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team to design, develop, enhance and maintain Trading and Risk Management applications in Beacon’s Python Environment Platform.
  • Collaborate with our clients (asset managers, hedge funds, insurance companies, investment banks and commodities trading companies) to adapt and customize our cloud-hosted Trading Risk Management platform
  • Work with internal and external clients to gather and analyze requirements and product enhancements
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to the team.
  • Participate in Agile meetings to contribute with development strategies and product roadmap
  • Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback to team members
  • Communicate with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines

Requirements:
