Google's Software Engineers develop next-generation technologies at massive scale, extending beyond web search. This role involves working on critical projects, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. Engineers are expected to be versatile, display leadership, and tackle new problems across the full-stack. The Core team builds foundational technical elements, developer platforms, and infrastructure, impacting key technical decisions company-wide to ensure excellent, safe, and coherent user experiences.
Must have:
  • Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) models to personalize results for Google's AI applications.
  • Implement advanced retrieval techniques (e.g., embeddings, vector databases) to ensure the related data is fetched.
  • Scale data processing infrastructure to ingest user data from multiple sources.
  • Develop compliance solutions by integrating with frameworks and adhering to data security and privacy standards, while promoting relationships with infrastructure teams.
  • Drive productionization and reliability efforts, including production readiness, privacy and security reviews, configuration management tooling, and resource acquisition.

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 1 year of experience working with two or more from the following: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, distributed and parallel systems, networking, developing large-scale software systems, privacy or wipeout, and security software development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in an academic or industry setting.
  • Ability to build Google-scale services.
  • Ability to work separately and contribute to project direction.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
