Google Search is reimagining how people search for information. As a Software Engineer, Mobile (Android), Search, you'll contribute to this evolution by writing and reviewing code, participating in design reviews, and resolving system issues. Your work will impact billions globally. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. You'll work on projects critical to Google's needs, managing priorities and deadlines. You'll need strong Android development experience and expertise in data structures and algorithms. The role involves collaboration with peers and stakeholders to build a universally accessible and useful search experience.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1 year software development experience (Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript)
  • 1 year experience with data structures/algorithms
  • Android app development experience
  • Code writing, review, and debugging
Good to have:
  • Master's/PhD in CS or related field
  • Experience with large-scale systems
  • Experience with performance analysis and visualization tools
  • Experience developing accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 1 year of experience with Android application development.
  • 1 year of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, and/or debugging.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
