Join the Consumer org at Opendoor as a product-focused Senior Fullstack Engineer to transform digital experiences for home sellers and buyers. This role involves collaborating with product and design to brainstorm solutions, iterate on experiments, and release product experiences in a fast-paced environment. You will build extensible full-stack products, focusing on front-end technologies while also contributing to backend development. Responsibilities include engaging in code reviews, mentoring, contributing to technical standards, and working with operations to enhance customer experience.
Must have:
  • 3+ years building and delivering high quality, web-based user-centered software products
  • Deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, React, GraphQL, HTML5 and CSS
  • Experience building large, modular and maintainable JavaScript code bases and reusable UI components
  • Experience and willingness to dive into backend code to deliver product features and debug issues (Ruby on Rails or Go)
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional partners (engineering, design, operations)
  • Work with product and design to brainstorm solutions, iterate on experiments, and release product experiences
  • Build extensible full-stack products with a focus on front-end and backend technologies
  • Collaborate with backend, frontend and full stack engineers through code reviews and mentoring
  • Contribute solutions to upleveling technical standards, software quality and team processes
  • Work closely with operations team to identify ways technology can remove friction

What You'll Need

About the Role

The Consumer org owns comprehensive digital experiences for home sellers and buyers. While sellers have traditionally come to Opendoor for a cash offer on their homes, we have been expanding our suite of products to serve more customers in one of the biggest transactions of their lives. This is a particularly exciting time for the team as we transform our technical architecture and user experience to a multi-product, personalized experience. We are looking for a product-focused senior fullstack Engineer to join us in this transformation.

What You'll Do

  • Work with product and design on our users’ biggest problems to brainstorm solutions, iterate on experiments, and release product experiences in a fast-paced environment
  • Build extensible full-stack products. The role will focus on front-end technologies but will also require work in the backend to deliver entire product features
  • Collaborate with backend, frontend and full stack engineers across the org by engaging in code reviews, mentoring other developers, and being an active voice in technical discussions across the stack
  • Contribute solutions to upleveling technical standards, software quality and team processes
  • Work closely with our operations team to identify ways that technology can remove friction and allow them to more efficiently help our customers

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $143,400-$196,900 annually, plus RSUs and bonuses. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We also offer a comprehensive package of benefits including unlimited PTO, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
