Job Description

This Sr. Network Engineer role at Nintendo of America's IT Infrastructure & Operations department involves complex technical analysis, design, and network development. Responsibilities include defining functional/technical needs, recommending solutions, developing networks, creating test scenarios, managing change control, configuring IPSec VPN encryption, leading LAN/WAN design changes, establishing traffic prioritization policies, and collaborating with Nintendo Co., Ltd. Troubleshooting network and firewall issues and providing on-call support are also crucial. The role demands staying updated on engineering approaches and ensuring compliance.
Must have:
  • 7+ years network development experience
  • Advanced PAN-OS knowledge
  • Strong networking topologies and protocols understanding
  • Experience with scripting for configuration management
  • Packet analysis for troubleshooting
  • Cisco IOS/Nexus OS knowledge
  • Palo Alto Networks PCNSE certification preferred

  • WAN optimization technologies experience
  • Experience with application-based optimizations
  • Ethernet LAN technologies expertise (Cisco)

Team/Job Summary: This role is within NOA IT’s Infrastructure & Operations department, on the IT Network team. It performs and reviews complex technical analysis, design and network development using appropriate technologies to support department and company objectives.

 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

·        Works with analysts to define the functional and technical needs of an organization and recommends solutions that may have significant impact to the organization.

·        Assesses and recommends available technologies to meet needs, and then defines technical specifications and designs.

·        Develops and modifies technology networks, addressing functional, performance, security, quality, operations and monitoring needs in an efficient and productive manner.

·        Creates and reviews detailed test scenarios, performs testing and analyze results.

·        Documents and reviews technology changes through appropriate change control.

·        Configures and Deploys IPSec encryption for VPN. Integrates with disparate VPN technologies.

·        Acts as team lead for the administration and maintenance of the network infrastructure.

·        Leads and coordinates LAN/WAN network architectural design changes.

·        Establishes policies for the traffic prioritization within a network that supports converged networking.

·        Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise that may also include employees from Nintendo Company, Ltd. (NCL) and subsidiaries.

·        Requires staying current on engineering approaches, technologies and techniques.

·        Ensures work is completed in such a way to comply with established compliance and other internal control requirements.

·        Provides support and troubleshooting of prior developed technology solutions and recommends effective refactoring when needed.

·        Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and firewall-related issues in a timely manner.

·        Provides on-call support as needed.

 

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

·        Minimum of seven (7) years of related experience in various network development technologies patterns and practices.

·        Wide-ranging experience, including proven experience leading work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

·        Advanced knowledge of PAN-OS

·        Strong understanding of networking topologies and protocols.

·        Experience with programming/scripting for configuration management (Ansible/Python/Perl/bash/etc.)

·        Experience with packet analysis for troubleshooting issues

·        Understanding of WAN optimization technologies including compression, acceleration, and protocol optimization desired. Experience with Integration with application-based optimizations desired.

·        Demonstrated expertise with Ethernet LAN technologies with a focus on Cisco technologies for Layer 2 redundancy and re-convergence.

·        Knowledge of Cisco IOS/Nexus OS.

·        Knowledge of wireless technologies 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax and Network Access Solutions

·        Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·        Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) preferred

 

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

   

This position is HYBRID in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

 

This position includes a base salary range of $114,000 - $205,000 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off. Please see our  for more benefits information.
