Job Description

As a Sr Principal, Technical Product Manager for PowerTrack Development, you will be responsible for bringing out the desires of our customers and manifesting them into a powerful roadmap. You will define requirements for next-generation solutions, be a domain expert, drive product vision and strategy, represent Stem’s offerings, study competitors, explore new ways of improving existing services, provide product training, identify innovative product solutions, and work with development leads. You will also work with the President of the Software Products Business Unit and the VP of PowerTrack Software Development to create a clear, convincing technical strategy for the PowerTrack product portfolio, collaborate with design, product management and analytics leaders and influence company-wide technology decisions. Must have:
  • B.S. in computer science or similar technical degree
  • 10+ years of experience in leading engineering teams
  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs
  • Experience with modern internet stacks
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum
Good to have:
  • M.S. or PhD in computer science or similar technical degree
  • Experience building web, Android, and iOS experiences simultaneously
  • Proven ability to deliver products supporting many users

What we are looking for:

As a Sr Principal, Technical Product Manager for PowerTrack Development, you will be responsible for bringing out the desires of our customers and manifesting them into a powerful roadmap and then work closely with the development teams to make those features a reality.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead voice-of-customer activities and define requirements for next-generation solutions
  • Be a domain expert with the ability to solve real-world control problems
  • Drive product vision, strategy and requirements, validating direction regularly with internal teams, partners and customers
  • Represent Stem’s offerings and capabilities in customer settings, trade venues, other industry forums
  • Study competitors’ services and products
  • Explore new ways of improving existing services and products
  • Provide product training and technical expertise
  • Identify and present innovative product solutions
  • Work with development leads so that product requirements are understood
  • Work within a software development methodology like AGILE
  • Answer product related inquiries
  • Development vision and strategy - Responsible for working with the President of the Software Products Business Unit and the VP of PowerTrack Software Development to create a clear, convincing technical strategy for the PowerTrack product portfolio.
  • Getting things done and comfortable being in details to drive functional and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with design, product management and analytics leaders to define and execute on the vision for PowerTrack.
  • Influence company-wide technology decisions as a member of our engineering leadership team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in computer science, statistics, mathematics or similar technical degree required.
  • M.S. or PhD in computer science, statistics, mathematics or similar technical degree preferrable.
  • 10+ years of experience in leading and managing high-performing engineering teams.
  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering and/or product development.
  • Demonstrated ability to seek and understand customer needs, and develop competitive plans
  • Extensive experience with modern internet stacks, how they work and how they scale.
  • Experience building web, Android, and iOS experiences simultaneously.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum and balancing a process orientation with a results orientation to get things done efficiently and effectively.
  • Proven ability to deliver products that support a large scale of users.
  • Comfortable with product lifecycle testing, embraces a build, measure, learn approach.
  • Experience evaluating both cloud and non-cloud infrastructure.
  • As a leader, excites and inspires peak performance with unquestionable ethics and sound judgement; embraces a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality, with pragmatism and bias for action.
  • Proven track record of delivering features and functionality on time with high quality.
  • A proven ability to make difficult decisions, manage performance, and hold a high bar for the quality of the engineers who you lead.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; polished presenter to executive audiences.
  • A deep understanding of the business that we are in and a strong point of view about how to create that business.

Location: Broomfield, CO

Hours: This is a 20 hour a week Part Time position

Salary Range

$86,760.00 - $130,140.00
